I do not understand the obsession with this Oblamalama birth certificate thing.
The whole thing is just silly IMHO.
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2008/06/obama-birth.html

It will just make conservatives look like nut-jobs and give the RATS fodder for their propaganda machine.
The State of Hawaii says BHO was born there (Hawaii’s Republican governor spoke just before Giuliani at the Republican National Convention, if you will recall), and the state has provided a certificate of live birth.
It is unlikely that the US Supreme Court will waste time reviewing this case.

No the State of Hawaii never said anything of the sort.

Yeah, the US Supreme Court is going to declare the first black President ineligible to take office based on this.

I am not opposed to the matter being taken to court to be explored.

But I shake my head at the number of people here who actually think that it is going to result in Obama not being allowed to take office. Merry Fitzmas conservative style.

No, they did not say he was born in Hawaii, they said they have a birth certificate on file. Hawaii law lets anyone born anywhere register a birth in Hawaii.

The "obsession" is to uphold the Constitution. I'm sure you've heard of that document. If the Constitution is not worth upholding, then none of our laws mean anything. And if Zero is ordained supreme leader and is not eligible, every law he signs, every agreement he makes, etc. isn't worth spit.

I do not understand...

It would serve you well to do some reading before deciding "the whole thing is silly."

“The whole thing is just silly IMHO.”

You are woefully mis-informed. Not only does the LA Times' sloppy journalism get the Obama story wrong it also is completely wrong about John McCain!

McCain was NOT born in a military hospital, And the document they are peddling as 0bama's "Birth Certificate" is a crude forgery that has been unmasked by multiple experts.

So do some research and then rejoin the conversation, but I will warn you, the media coverage, such that it is is totally skewed with, half-truths, wrong assumptions, mis-information and outright lies, So pick your facts carefully.

At the end of the day you will see that NO-ONE, ANYWHERE has produced a trusted document signifying where 0bama was born.

The only document that could resolve the issue is under seal in Hawaii and 0bama is spending a fortune to keep it that way.

Now if you don't smell a rat here, you are more easily placated that the more than 155,000 that have signed World Net Daily's petition to get the document released.

“The State of Hawaii says BHO was born there (Hawaii’s Republican governor spoke just before Giuliani at the Republican National Convention, if you will recall), and the state has provided a certificate of live birth.”

Two misstatements in one sentence. Good going. Hawaii has NEVER said that Obama was born there, simply that they have a birth certificate on record. And whether or not the “Certificate of Live Birth” being bandied about is genuine is very much in question and I sincerely doubt that it was ever issued by the State of Hawaii.

Don’t bother, bro.

I’ve tried arguing this and it’s to no avail. You get shouted down, called names, and labeled unpatriotic. They’re aggressive, obnoxious, and obsessed. Some of them of posted dozens of articles about this nonsense in just the past 24 hours.

I’m afraid we may be witnessing the decline of a once fine site into a right wing version of Kos and DU.

There’s a silent majority that’s waiting them out (I know via Freepmails), but they’re getting more hysterical by the minute.

We lost. Big,

It’s time to roll up our sleeves and start rebuilding.

If you are ridiculing freepers because you think Obama has shown a valid colb on his website, know this, the two who forged that document have confessed to the forgery after Polarik proved the way they did it. Yet the Obamanoids continue to tout that forgery as proof of his birth in Hawai’i. The Constitution is more important than the affirmative action candidate or your smarmy desire to just all get along and move on to ‘more important things.’

I do not understand the obsession with this Oblamalama birth certificate thing.

Well, I for one (assuming that you're not an Obama cheerleader) don't understand why you don't understand.

That L. A. Slimes photo is from a "Certification of Live Birth" which Obama's camp put out on his web site. It is a document produced within the last two years at most by computer, not anywhere close to the "Certificate of Birth" or "Certificate of Live Birth" which normally is produced within hours at most of the actual birth event. Moreover, the document showed accompanying the Slimes article is a forgery, as proved scientifically by, among others, FReeper Ron Polarik. I don't see why you would trust an organization (LA Slimes) that, during the campaign, refused, despite much pressure, to release a tape or transcript of what their guy Obama said at an event honoring the Palestinian Islamist Rashid Khalidi.

The State of Hawaii says BHO was born there.

Not at all. They merely say thay have a certificate regarding his birth in their files, but haven't indicated the POB on the face of that certificate. In Hawaii, it was possible under state law for a Hawaii resident relative of a baby born out of state to register that out of state birth with state authorities within a year of the birth.

Hawaii's Republican governor spoke ... at the Republican National Convention.

Totally irrelevant. Most Republican officeholders have regrettably treated this contoversy like the third rail of politics.

Can you find text of Gov. saying that or head of HHS—from what I read, it was noted that the Birth Certificate is on file; not that he was born in Hawaii.

Yeah. It’s silly that Obama has arranged for his birth certificate to be censored by the State of Hawaii, only so that it can be released at a later date to make conservatives look stupid.

McCain released his immediately when the question came up.

The whole thing is just silly IMHO.

It is SO silly that BO has three law firms blocking access to his records.
