just might wake them up as to how much government actually costs them.

Yet another benefit.

and Obama is not as bad as Hugo chavez...but why can’t we come up with meaningful policies for a change?
It reminds me of the GOP response to the bailout. Mike Pence had a great plan but it was buried by the main alternative GOP plan which involved a mortgage insurance scheme and suspension of dividend payments. These republicans were ridiculed by the financial world for this stupid plan and the anti-bailout movement was ruined.

I’ll introduce legislation to give all Americans a two-month income tax holiday.

Make it the income tax "holiday" permanent by replacing federal income taxes with a national sales/consumption tax via The Fair Tax Act(HR25/S1025) currently before Congress. Fair Tax ping!

I happen to think that allowing American workers to keep their entire paychecks for two months just might wake them up as to how much government actually costs them.

I’m all for this idea! Let’s get’r done!

This is the #1 reason why this plan will never see the light of day. Can you imagine everyones reaction when, after the tax holiday expires, everyone sees their take home pay shrink by 30% or more?

The second reason is that congress would much rather send EVERYONE a small check whether or not they work. This way all the brain dead who voted for the crop of Marxists we just elected can say ,"Wow!!! Barack just sent me a check!!! He's bought me for another 4 years.".

Nice diea as far as it goes. Suspend FICA, too. But a 12-month holiday would be even better. We need to cut taxes as JFK, Reagan, and W all did to very good effect.

BTW, if BO wants to cut taxes for people who don’t pay income tax, why not just cut FICA instead of writing them a welfare check and calling it a tax cut?

To me that is the only benefit of doing this. But I don’t thing the reaction will be strong enough. Otherwise it is a stupid idea for all of the reasons others have mentioned and then some. Nothing but a gimmick.

Put a government employee on the job; as an example, how much section 179 credit do you lose when you buy an asset in March and usually get to expense it over the entire year?

And don't make the mistake of applying common sense logic to tax law; they do not have a solid relationship, just a passing acquaintance.

We need to contact our congresscritters and tell them to support this tax holiday.
