McCain discusses Irish visa issue [amnesty for illegal Irish]
Irish Times, Dublin, Ireland ^ | 2008-12-09 | Pat Flynn

Posted on 12/08/2008 9:10:51 PM PST by rabscuttle385

The undocumented Irish in the United States were discussed at Shannon airport last night when the Minister for Defence Willie O'Dea TD met former US Republican presidential candidate senator John McCain.

After the meeting, Mr O'Dea said: "We met for about 40 minutes and it was very productive and cordial. Senator McCain has committed to raising the issue of the undocumented Irish with president-elect Obama on his return to the US."

Mr McCain's aircraft made a refuelling stop at Shannon on his way back to the US after spending the past week on a regional tour with two other members of the senate armed services committee, senators Joe Lieberman and Lindsey Graham.

Mr O'Dea was deputising for Minister for Foreign Affairs Micheál Martin who is on official business in Brussels.

Mr Martin has already committed to seeking a visa agreement with the US authorities for the "undocumented" Irish in the US. He stated last month that "finding a solution for our undocumented citizens is a key priority."

Arrangements for last night's meeting were finalised last Friday but were not publicised for security reasons.

The men also discussed the establishment of the new US customs pre-clearance facility which was agreed between the Irish and US governments last month and which will open in Shannon next year. The facility will speed up the process of entry into the US.

We MUST stop this illegal Irish movement NOW!!!! Otherwise we’ll have millions of illegals doing the river dance on every street corner of America! The time is now, my friends!

I think McLame realizes he did as well in the election only because of the Cuda. That alone infuriates the RINO.
He thought he could kiss up to latins by supporting amnesty. The RINO turd thought he would get the Jewish vote by supporting Israel. The Rino turd thought he get the middle wishy washy vote by going centrist. The RINO turd thought he could ignore the conservative part of the Republican base and we would just go along so as to not elect the “magic negro”.
Ya know what there John, you sir are an ass with his head up that oraface and locked.
Go home and play shuffleboard ya fool John. And leave politics to the real men, like Saracuda.

There's only about 20,000 ILLEGAL Irish in the U.S. compared to 30,000,000 ILLEGAL 'Hispanics'. Well I'm 1/2 Irish and I want them deported too.

Makes no difference where you're from, if you are illegal hit the road.

This was a case of just wanting to post the picture of a gal that I really wanted to “amnesty”, she was incredibly sexy in that role.

Not to mention, poodle Tony Blair worked out a peace agreement in Ireland so all of these clowns have no excuse and can go home and even take advantage of Blair’s agreement and vote to merge the two Irelands if they got their butt home.

“Mr Martin has already committed to seeking a visa agreement with the US authorities for the “undocumented” Irish in the US. He stated last month that “finding a solution for our undocumented citizens is a key priority.””

Solution? The solution is to take them HOME! If McCain had one ounce of brain left he’d have told Martin that.

“We accept a million legal immigrants each and every year.

I have yet to hear anyone explain why a million per year is not enough.

If a million is the right number, on what do we base it? And if a million is not enough, on what do we base that?

No one ever talks numbers. They just cast aspersions, that somehow we’re not an inclusive or tolerant or loving nation if we only accept a million legals per year, without explaining what would be the magic number that would grant us absolution.”

Actually, it’s over 2 million.

http://uscis.gov/graphics/publicaffairs/DayinLife_050629.pdf (click here to see orignial document)

Some of the DAILY work of USIS according to their own document:

* Conduct 135,000 national security background checks

* process 30,000 applications for immigrant benefits

* Issue 7,000 permanent resident cards (green cards -PER DAY)

* Welcome 2100 new citizens.

* Welcome 3500 new permanent residents.

Does this look like we are not allowing enough “Legal” entries?

“A million is too damn many. We need to assimilate the LEGAL ones we have now before we admit anyone else. That’s going to take a generation or longer.”

See post 31, it’s over 2 million per year allowed in legally.
That doesn’t count special ‘refugee’ entrants, like the thousands of Somali’s and El Salvadorans from the floods.

What is it about the Law that McCain, Kennedy and Bush do NOT understand?????

I would think that at this point, McNutjob would be keeping a low profile.

Maybe he envisages a McCain/”Jeb” Brother of Jorge ticket in 2012!!!

Knowing how he feels about us McCain probably thinks he can slide amnesty past his ‘hillbilly’ constituents by having photo ops with white illegal aliens instead of brown ones.

Thanks. 7000 times 5 days a week times 52 weeks a year equals 1.8 million. Clearly my million a year remark isn't an exaggeration, its apparently out of date.

So by some kind of propagandistic judo, the country that is most open to immigration of any in the world is somehow “xenophobic”. We only allow 1.8 million legal immigrants, so we need comprehensive immigration reform so we can let in, how many? What is the right number? If a million isn't the right number, if 1.8 million isn't the right number, what is? On what would we base that number?

Something that gets lost in all of this is the purpose of immigration policy. Immigration policy should serve the interests of the citizens of a country. We have let ourselves be sold the idea that immigration is some kind of universal human right. It isn't. Immigration policy must serve the interests of the citizens.

It should not be used to manipulate wage rates, or voting patterns, or demographics. It should not be used as a safety valve for some other country's economic woes.

We have always recognized that immigration was a benefit to us, but recognizing its benefit doesn't rob us of the right to determine the numbers we believe are optimum, and it doesn't rob us of the right to decide which countries and peoples are compatible with our notions of governance and which are not.

Next time someone accuses us of being "anti-immigrant xenophobes", remember that number. About 2 million legal immigrants per year. It was a million. Now its two.

Some talk number, perhaps just not loud enough. The CIS (Center for Immigration Studies) and NumbersUSA publish data...but one of my favorites is the “gumball” video...on youtube:

One of the best implemented propaganda tricks around.

Remember, this USCIS report is a couple years old.

Thanks to Mike Cutler, former INS agent for sending it out.
