Democrat Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich is a crook’s crook. Even by the gutter level standards of Chicago his guy is a lowlife. But more than that, he is a moron and possibly a blackmailer.
First the lowlife/moron part: obviously Blagojevich was a crook from just about day one which is why he was selected to run for governor. The bum is in office for three years and has been under investigation for half of that span. Since it takes a while to get an investigation going, he must have been spotted right away, like a shoplifter at Wal-Mart. Besides being a crook he is also a moron. As far back as early December 2007 published reports about his wife being under investigation hit the streets.
A Law school graduate, Blagojevich eventually worked as a Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney, a position at which he obviously learned nothing, especially nothing about wiretaps. This man is a crook and a moron of the classic crooked Chicago mold.
He had a year’s warning to shut up and stop implicating himself on telephones. But of course as a Chicago Democrat he believed he was untouchable. Had it not been for a Republican US Attorney he would have been.
Now for the possible blackmailer part: For the past two years the Chicago Tribune investigated Barack Obama over his connections to Tony Rezko. Nevertheless,, last month for the first time ever the Tribune endorsed a Democrat for president. Was this a blackmailing or a quid pro quo? Blagojevich’s wiretap caught him demanding the firing of an unfriendly editorial writer at the financially troubled Tribune while publicly threatening them with trouble getting funded.
There’s definitely more to the story of why the financially troubled Tribune would endorse a Democrat it knew was covered in Tony Rezko’s crap..

There’s nothing new here. Chicago politics has always been “pay to play”. And it has carried to the state level for as long as I can remember. Blago’s simply more inept at it than other politicians.
I’ll bet Hussein was about to make a deal with the Gov.....Fitz arrested quickly to prevent Obama from making the buy.
Blagojevich is said to have a beautiful voice. I’d love to hear him sing.

The bigger question is? What did Barack Hussein know and when did he know it? After all the office of the President elect has been briefed by the justice dept. And Barack Hussein pulled his hand picked replacement out of the running.
Blago, while definitely corrupt himself, could be set up as the fall guy for BO.

Does this mean before someone like Jesse Jackson Jr. paid for the seat and would have had to be arrested too? Gotta keep Illinois blue no matter what.
The funniest part of this story for me is that a governor with a 4% approval rating was thinking about using a Senate seat as possible leverage for running for PRESIDENT in 2016.
I owe this guy some personal thanks for all the entertainment he’s given me this morning. If we’re gonna have crooked public servants, it’s great to have them be this stupid and careless.
They should make him squeal.. all the way to Inauguration Day and beyond..
This is starting to look similar in many ways to the Clintons and “Arkansas politics”. I’ll bet the shredders are working overtime in Chicago right now.
