Axelrod himself begged off Blagojevich’s first gubernatorial campaign because “I was concerned about whether he was ready for … governing.” Not so Obama and Emanuel; they both served as advisors, and they and Blago went on endorsing each other to the bitter end.

Update: Awesome. Let’s just drag this out as long as possible. Either we get the spectacle of the Illinois legislature impeaching him or we get the spectacle of Blago appointing The One’s successor while in jail. And based on the charges, he’s just stupid/nutty enough to do it.
“He didn’t do anything wrong,” attorney Sheldon Sorosky told reporters after Blagojevich was arraigned. “A lot of this is just politics.” Blagojevich should be in the office Wednesday, Sorosky added.
So, reporters asked, he does not intend to resign? “Not that I know of, no,” said Sorosky, who added that the governor was “surprised” by the day’s events.

I suspect only if "Blago" has the goods on Barry. Otherwise he'll wind up under the bus.

That was my take as well HOWEVER shortly after the statement an aide, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said
"What the president-elect said today is correct, David Axelrod misspoke,".
Shortly after we then had Axelrod issuing the following statement
"I was mistaken when I told an interviewer last month that the President-elect has spoken directly to Governor Blagojevich about the Senate vacancy. They did not then or at any time discuss the subject.",
With all the cya going on today no one is taking anything out of context.

If I were going to place a bet, here’s what I’d bet on. I’ll bet that the chances are good that 0bama did NOT offer any bribes to the Gov. Why not? Because he thinks he’s been elected Emperor and is now in charge of everything. I think that what is much more likely is that 0bama was pressing for his choice for Senator and that Blag was expecting a payoff that 0bama was refusing.
I think that if 0bama is going to get nailed for something, it will be his pre-election crimes. After being elected, 0bama may have irritated Blag enough with his imperial demeanor that Blag spills the beans on something else from before the election.
Before the election, 0bama was still a mere mortal and subject to the “normal” rules of Chicago politics (bribes, coercion, quid pro quo). Blag must know what was involved in getting 0bama both the Illinois state Senate seat and the US Senate seat. He may also know details about voter/election fraud during the election.
You know, a part of me agrees with you, but another part of me thinks that Americans would finally wake up to the corruption that surrounds O if they could somehow hear the entire truth about him.

In fact, he wants to take back a statement that was made by Axlerod before the case exploded on the public view, which has not been contested until this moment, and now say that back then Axlerod, "mispoke?"
It is obvious that Obama takes the entirety of the US voting public for the fools this disgusting governor took the people of Illinois for.
