Interesting interview with Jimmie Vaughan. More than just a mean axe man.

Looks like what Jimmie loses to his brother in talent he makes up for in brains.

Jimmie always said that Stevie was his biggest fan. They were very close. Good to see that a good ol Texas boy has some sense.

Caught in a Crossfire!

Glad he thinks and speaks the way he does.

Saw him sit in with Clapton in San Antonio. Good show.

There is a guy on the Dallas all-sports station who does afternoon drive. He grew up in Dallas and was in the live music scene of the '60's into the '70's.

One day a couple of kids down the street heard his band playing in his garage and asked if they could join in. After a few minutes of jamming he told them to get lost.

You guessed it. They were Jimmie and Stevie Ray.

Stevie was the guitar player in the family. He was in a class by himself.

TNA: What about this war?

Vaughan: I’m anti-war. I like what the Founding Fathers said. We should defend ourselves and take care of business if we are attacked, but invading sovereign countries is absolutely ridiculous, horrifying, un-American, and wrong. Who could have imagined that it would be like this? We shouldn’t police the world.

A very interesting read!

I was always a bigger fan of Stevie Ray, but Jimmie’s no slouch either.

Very interesting. I had heard some of this about Jimmie before this, but not as much info as in this article.

“Stevie was the guitar player in the family.”
That is a silly comment. Two different styles. Jimmie is a traditionalist. Stevie actually was not.

Refreshing to see a "celebrity" not eat up with socialism .

""get away from the mainstream media, think for yourself.""

Amen Mr Vaughan!

I prefer Jimmie’s playing. Clean and traditional. SRV was another Hendrix copy..

I like both, but I don’t hear a lot of Hendrix in SRV’s playing. I think SRV could play whatever he wanted, but he was mentored by Lonnie Mack and Albert King more than anyone.

SRV was certainly influenced by Hendrix, but he was no clone.

I also prefer Jimmie’s playing, but then, I’m also a traditionalist. But,,,, tradition out the window, I really like Pete Anderson’s solo cds. And they’re anything but traditional! Quirky at it’s best!

He’d still be here today rockin’ out the blues if he hadn’t rode the Horse to his death. I’m still a big fan.

SRV died in a helicopter crash. Do they call those ‘horse’ now? He also got himself cleaned up just before. SRV is my all time favorite guitarist. He made that baby sing any tune.

I don’t like what Jimmie said about the war. A little too much Ron Paul too.
