WASHINGTON, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency says it's started the first Web site devoted to apprehending environmental fugitives.

EPA officials said the Web site is designed to enlist the public and other law enforcement agencies in locating people accused of violating environmental laws and evading arrest.

"Putting this information on the EPA's Web site will increase the number of 'eyes' looking for environmental fugitives," said Granta Nakayama, assistant administrator of the EPA's Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance. "Two EPA fugitives were captured this year, and this Web site could help us find more fugitives in the future."

The Web site includes photographs of accused people, summaries of their alleged environmental violations and information on each fugitive's last known whereabouts. Alleged violations include smuggling of ozone-depleting substances, illegally disposing of hazardous waste and making criminally false statements.

While the FBI, Secret Service and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms also maintain Web sites featuring fugitives from the law, the EPA said it is the first federal law enforcement agency to feature an environmental crimes fugitive web site.

The Web site is available at http://www.epa.gov/fugitives.

I’ll get right on it. I’m moving it to the top of the “to do” list.

Well, at last the EPA has decided to put it’s intentions out there.

“On display will be John Karayannides, who allegedly helped orchestrate the dumping of 487 tons of wheat tainted with diesel fuel into the South China Sea in 1998. Karayannides is believed to have fled to Athens, Greece.”

Well, they’re going to go international. Remind me to buy some hairspray and use it while outside. Do my part.

The website's overloaded, but I suspect I'll find that the top 6 on the list are all Global Warming® deniers.

I hate snitches. Ultimately, as in the former Soviet Union, they undermine social and cultural values. The police, wisely, find them useful but are seldom foolish enough to love or trust them. Judas Iscariot was a snitch.

I remember how the Emperor Augustus used snitches and then executed them after extracting their information. He hated traitors but approved of treachery.

That’s what snitches don’t understand. They are going to be eliminated right along with the alledged culprit.

I hesitate to say what I truly think about the EPA, the creation of it and the level of arrogance among their staff. All is best left unsaid but trust me, tyrannical at best with little sign of reasonable control in their powers or among their ranks.
