California Set to Adopt Sweeping Global Warming Plan

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- California's utilities, refineries and large factories must transform their operations to cut greenhouse gas emissions as part of a new climate plan before state regulators.

On Thursday, the California Air Resources Board was expected to adopt what would be the nation's most sweeping global warming plan, outlining for the first time how individuals and businesses would meet a landmark 2006 law that made the state a leader on global climate change.

It would hold California's worst polluters accountable for the heat-trapping emissions they produce _ transforming how people travel, utilities generate power and businesses use electricity.

At the heart of the plan is the future creation of a carbon-credit market designed to give the state's major polluters cheaper ways to cut emissions.

If adopted, the plan would set clear strategies for how the country's most populous state plans to cut emissions at a time many governments around the world are struggling with a financial crisis that threatens

How is the pot industry in California doing I wonder? Probably the last sector to get hit.

Something about putting down the shovel when you’ve dug yourself too deep a hole.

I have family in CA. I wish they’d move here to the USA.

But think of all the jobs this will create in CA. Lawyers are going to be needed to represent these polluters as they plea for help, go through bankruptcy, legal challenges.

Eventually there will be construction jobs that will be saved when the polluters buildings need to be demolished.

More movers and truck drivers will be needed to evacuate the employees and businesses from the state of CA.

There may even me a need for more guards and police officers as civil unrest rises.

You have to look at the bright side of things in CA.

I never underestimate the ignorance of a liberal.

Most marxists believe that it only takes the right leader to make it work...so they keep up "hope" for one to come along. Ed Asner has said just a thing. 100 years of failure means nothing to these morons.

Watch businesses and their jobs flee California when these laws go into effect. Gov. Arnold must be in some competition with the Governor of Michigan to see who can screw up their state the most.

I know. I was not being sarcastic, hyperbolic, or funny. It is exactly how they (the government/media complex) will explain it.

I guess they really are insane in California. The Earth is getting colder and California is worried about global warming. Well just wait until California gets hit with the air mass sitting at minue 81 degrees in Sibera, maybe that will get there attention and wake them up. PS any Sun spots yet?

Solar flares are decreasing.
We are entering a 15 year cooling period.

Just by the sheer size of the natural generation of carbon dioxide from ongoing life processes, whatever feeble little amount that man produces shrivels to total insignificance.

Despite rulings to the contrary, carbon dioxide is NOT a pollutant, and attempts to picture the substance as being so, are either displaying willful ignorance, or knowingly propagating a falsehood. Carbon dioxide is so bound up in our very life processes, it cannot ever be disentangled. We are a carbon-based life form, for cat’s sake, and plants NEED carbon dioxide to even exist.

Water vapor is from some twenty to over 100 times as potent a “greenhouse gas” as carbon dioxide could ever be. And it would be totally pointless to regulate water vapor.

-
Air Composition
The sea-level composition of air (in percent by volume at the temperature of 15°C and the pressure of 101325 Pa) is given below.

Name- Symbol- Percent by Volume
Nitrogen- N2- 78.084 %
Oxygen- O2- 20.9476 %
Argon- Ar- 0.934 %
Carbon Dioxide- CO2- 0.0314 %
Neon- Ne- 0.001818 %
Methane- CH4- 0.0002 %
Helium- He- 0.000524 %
Krypton- Kr- 0.000114 %
Hydrogen- H2- 0.00005 %
Xenon- Xe- 0.0000087 %

Water vapor is a highly variable component of the atmosphere, ranging from less than 1% to more than 4% of the volume of a given amount of air, and is expressed as “relative humidity”.

“Solar flares are decreasing. We are entering a 15 year cooling period.”

And, when the cooling commences, watch the envirowhackos claim credit.

Please, do yourself a favor and DON'T move to Texas.

Heh,heh. Born in New Mexico, raised in Texas and Arizona. I like 'em all just fine, thank you very much. But I tell all my California Liberal friends who want to move to consider Chile and Argentina instead ;)

Indiana has one of the strongest economies in our area right now. I believe, besides a good governor, we have to thank Michigan and Illinois. We have had several large companies move to IN in the past few years.

And they'll close their doors. Really smart plan when the state is already bankrupt.
