Emanuel May Be On Tape With Blagojevich
Rahm Emanuel may have had discussions with Gov. Blagojevich and the FBI may have the tape according to Chicago news sources. This, despite denials by Emanuel and president-elect Obama. Emanuel has been dodging reporters and has not made any statement about the report as of this post

Keep calling the Governor's Office and encouraging Gov. Blagojevich to fight being scapegoated by Fitz.
Call Blago and tell him to call their bluff.
Excellent idea....dirty Fitz should not get away with protecting another liberal.

I agree. It was stupid of Obama to deny ever talking about who would get his Senate seat! He should have said, “I kicked around some names, but didn't bribe anybody.” Now, we may be asked to believe that Emanuel alone was involved in chicanery while Obama wasn't even innocently discussing the Senate seat. Preposterous. These people lie so blithely they forget that some people actually have brains and may think, “That seems fishy.” Why wouldn't Obama have spoken about who would get his Senate seat? Here in New York, people on the subways are debating who will get HRC’s Senate seat; why would the actual holder of a seat not have conversations with the Governor who will be appointing the next one in it?

Since Rahm is resigning his seat and the Gov. (Blago) gets to set the special election date, I would expect they had some converstaions -- especially considering Rahm succeeded Blago in the district.
At a minimu, Rahm, or an emissary, would have to send Blago his resignation date. The IL Gov. only has five days from the resignation to set the special election date (and the special election must occur within 115 days).
I'll let them MSM convince me that nobody on Zero's team had contact with Blago./s

Wouldn't it be funny if it turned out that Obama's people made the first demand that Blagojevich name Jarrett to the Senate seat, and then he decided to turn the tables.

And it’s Joe Biden, too.

Maybe, maybe not. Emanuel strikes me as the sort of guy who wouldn’t hesitate to deal on the side without his boss’s knowledge. If he did so with Blag, he’ll be gone from his shiny new position well before Inauguration Day.

And anyway, that'd probably be Obama's "throw him under the bus" strategy no matter what.
OTOH, if Mr. Emanuel is as self-serving as that, I wonder how willing he'd be to take one for the team if Obama was in the know as well.

Gerald Ford might be the closest. He was voted into his Congressional seat, but was appointed to the VP position when Spiro Agnew resigned. He then became President when Richard Nixon resigned. So he was the first president to have never won a national election.

The hypocrisy! I’m sure Rahmbo never was involved in any Chicago-land political strong arming when it was to his advantage. I hope the thug lives long enough to sing, after that I have no mercy for street thugs of his ilk.

These people are all so dirty. There’s no way the dirty players are going to go down without bringing everyone involved down with them-including Obama. I get a sense that Obama is not loved by everyone in Chicago - someone will rat him out over something.

“Better lawyer up, Rahamamed.”
Not a thing will come of this. Fitz popped it open before anything criminal happened. Talking about a crime with no positive steps towards the crime is NOT A CRIME. I can talk about robbing a bank all I want but as long as I do nothing towards doing it, no crime has taken place.
