WASHINGTON (AP) - People who have been briefed on the Illinois governor corruption investigation say Barack Obama chief of staff Rahm Emanuel is not a target of the probe. Emanuel, a Chicago congressman who would have been a likely contact between the Obama transition office and Gov. Rod Blagojevich, has been a focus of media attention since Obama said Thursday he has asked for an internal review of contacts between his staff and Blagojevich.

Emanuel has been refusing to answer questions about whether he's the "president-elect adviser" referred to in the criminal complaint that accuses Blagojevich of putting Obama's Senate seat up for sale. The complaint does not say that Blagojevich ever spoke to the unidentified Obama adviser about the Senate seat.

The two people who said Emanuel is not a target of the probe spoke on a condition of anonymity because the investigation is still under way. One is a person close to Emanuel, who said he has been told by investigators that he's not a subject of their investigation.

BS. He is neck deep in it and his allies in the press are trying to spin this one off. Take it to the bank that Blago is going to tell all against the democrats for calling his head and trying to force his resignation. He will turn on Rahm and Obama. Obama mocked him yesterday and I do not think ole big brass balls Blago will let that slide when the press is calling him crazy and hi wife a slut. Mrs. Blago handled Obama’s shady land deal and the purchase of his home. She knows what happened there and will the beans. If Fitzgerald tries to cover for the Obama’s the Blagos will go to the press via interviews. There is no way the will walk into prison and let the other dirty hands remain free. Bank on it.

Wrong. Blagos wife handled the shady land deal as Obama’s realtor. She knows the skeletons behind it. She will spill the beans even if Fitzgerald tries to cover for Obama. The Blagos will not go quietly to prison and let the others go free when they are as dirty as they are. Bank on it.

I sure hope you’re right. Good point about Blago’s wife knowing the details on the land deal. If Fitz won’t take this all the way, our best hope is that Blago, his wife and Rezko tell all.
