The old three-network model we all grew up with is gone. The only thing left is for their news divisions to be melded into a cable model which I think won’t be long.

The issue in that scenario is the preservation of the "objectivity" scam. There is only so much market for left - wing agenda-setting masquerading as - in the immortal words of Walter Cronkite - "and that's the way it is." No possibility of rebuttal, or different viewpoints being legitimate. Only "anti-establishment" protests sponsored by the real establishment, Big Journalism.
