McCain rewards Palin’s loyalty with a shrug

Today on ABC’s This Week, when asked by host George Stephanopoulos whether he would support Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin if she runs for president, Sen. John McCain punted:

“Oh no. Listen I have the greatest appreciation for Gov. Palin and her family and it was a great joy to know them,” McCain said. “She invigorated our campaign and she was just down in Georgia and she invigorated their campaign.”

“But I can’t say something like that,” McCain said, “We’ve got some great other young governors… Pawlenty, Huntsman.”

Pressed by Stephanopoulos that McCain had considered Palin to be the best person to succeed him if he had been elected and something had happened to him, the former Republican presidential candidate replied:

“Well sure, but now we’re in a whole election cycle.”

Yet, the very classy and loyal Gov. Palin will no doubt campaign for him when he runs for his re-election in 2010. This man has no honor.

McCain knows he got as many votes as he did because of Palin and only because of her.

Let this be a lesson. No favor to McCain ever goes unpunished.

He is in a class with Arlen Specter.

There were two reasons I supported John McCain:

1. His name wasn’t Barack Hussein Obama, Jr.

2. Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska.

Any questions?

OTOH, Palin continues to run around the country and praise McCain. He sounds very ungrateful and petty. She is a class act, no doubt.

"This man has no honor."

You got that right. Sarah Palin was responsible for more than half the votes he got. Now he's showing his true colors in the face of defeat: they're shades of YELLOW.

I have two things to say to John:
1. I did not vote for Obama or Biden. I did not vote for you. I voted GOP because Palin was on your ticket.
2. Next time you cross the aisle to work a deal with your pals in Demo party. Do us a favor and take your Senate name plaque with you and stay over there.

I did the same and feel the same now. McCain is the kind of Republican that will keep loosing to the Democrats every time. Four years from now, if, God forbid,he were to try to run again against Obama, his campaign will be themed around this: “Obama, my worthy opponent, please beat me some more!”

He virtually surrendered to Obama mid-fight.

It’s pretty damning reflection on the GOP that this asshole was the nominee.
Great leaders are few and far between indeed .
I feel privledged to have been able to vote for Reagan twice, the last great American leader, the Republic is doomed.

That’s the best thing that he could have done for her!

In his twisted mind, he probably thinks that she is responsible for his loss and he will do all that he can to undermine her for the rest of his life.

McCain’s hatred for Bush led him to form his own little shadow presidency and undermine everthing Bush tried to do, thus making Bush more unpopular than he would have already been. I have found a lot of sweet irony in the fact that the democrats defeated McCain by tying Bush around his neck.

McCain ran ten years for an office he never really wanted. The ONLY worth while thing he EVER did as a candidate was introduce Sarah Palin to the nation. He now wishes he hadn't because he sees in her everything he despises in politics...the idea that a Republican candidate can rouse the Republican base.

I can't read McCain's mind. I can only review the evidence, like everyone else.

I do not like McCain.

He and Lindsey and Joe will exert a powerful force on the Senate. They will make Dingy Harry suffer. They will not promote or offer a conservative friendly agenda. It will take a centrist stand and what they want Will prevail.

They will be able to scrounge up 41 votes to kill what they oppose. McCain will be the force to be reckoned with in the Senate.

This thread is evidence of the intent.

Seriously, this guy is yesterday. SP is the future of the conservative movement and the GOP, IF the GOP wants a future.

The shear force of her personality and her steadfastness to principles..OUR PRINCIPLES..will blow these old fart RINO’s away......we all have a lot of work to do over the next four yrs....but as far as I’m concerned....it will be a beautiful thing to see these bastards being overrun by the frieght train known as Sarah Palin.
