Here's the link to the video of an Iraqi journalist throwing his shoes at Bush.
Luckily the President has quick reflexes.
He will win a Pulitzer for that.
And this jerk lived under Saddam?? This is the thanks he gives when over 4,000 Americans gave their lives so he can do this????
Very disconcerting - he could have had a pistol and would have shot the president in the head - point blank. Did you see the lag time before a single secret service agent arrived?
They probably wanded and searched them all for weps..that is why he had to resort to the shoes.
You put your right foot in, and you shake it all about, You put your left foot in, that’s what it’s all about.
What this fool and all the liberals who will crow over this are oblivious to is the fact that this idiot COULD throw his shoes at the President and, obviouly, he did not fear retribution. That alone vindicates Pres. Bush.
Under Hussein (Saddam not Barrack) this overgrown 2 year old would have been thrown down a wood chipper or fed to lions and all footage of it would have been destroyed.
Probably the only time an alert Secret Service agent would ever have the need to yell “SHOE!!!”;)
Now can we go & just let Allah and/or whoever else is left after we level Irag upon leaving sort them out? Juz wondering:
He is a jounalist; nothing more needs to be said.
Also, I think a lot of those security dudes in the vid are not US.
What is it with “journalists”?
And a Nobel Peace Prize.
Was he given this assignment by CNN?
The reporter was allegedly from Egyptian Newspaper. I can’t believe the comments on YouTube.
That he could do this and live shows our victory and his stupidity.
The smell should be considered a dangerous weapon!
This could have been serious.
This “journalist” could have called hum a “house negroe”
Someone threw a shoe at Richard Perle on a college campus a few years ago.
I wonder how often this smack off threw his shoes at Saddam?
I'm sure this video will get plenty of airplay on Leno, Letterman and Conan.
Did he intern at the New York Times or the Washington Post?
Paid for by Code Pinko...
And the President waved off the Secret Service and calmly finished the news conference, quipping that, “it was a size 10.”
Class vs. crass.
This shoe attack could have just been a probing attack to check defenses for a much larger shoe attack planned for later.
If it was England with their socialized Medicine and insane marginal tax rates it is a miracle they have shoes. Besides they have been so geldified they would have thrown a high heel :-) .......
You can't? I can. It takes all kinds. And some of the marginal ones congregate on YouTube.
I’m surprised the Secret Service didn’t drop the guy.
In Arab culture this is a BIG insult.
As a U.S. taxpayer and fellow citizen of U.S. soldiers risking their lives, suffereing horrific injuries and dying to improve your litle hell-hole of a nation I say to that journalist f*** you and the horse you rode in on! If it were possible to isolate fools like that and hold them in a portion of Iraq which would be run in fashion like that under Saddam, I would be all in favor of it.
Wow, with reflexes like that, he could be married to the Hildabeast (ducking all the ashtrays).
Or at least be hired at the NYTimes and or MSNBC.
Remember when the Saddam statue was pulled through the streets of Baghdad and all the Shiites were hitting the statue with sandals and shoes?
Well, “sticks and stones” and all that. . .
As the President told graduates at Texas A&M on Friday:
“Remember that popularity is as fleeting as the Texas wind. Character and conscience are as sturdy as the oaks on this campus. If you go home at night, look in the mirror and be satisfied that you have done what is right, you will pass the only test that matters.”
Nice dodge! W is definitely quick on the draw.
No, the soles of shoes are very insulting to Arabs. It’s worse than giving them the finger.
Imagine if a secret service agent had jumped in front of it though, for the rest of his career all his fellow agents would introduce him to new recruits like “This is Larry, he’s a legend around here, took a Hushpuppie in the chest for Bush back in ‘08...”
And maybe later a nod from the Nobel Prize uber liberals.
Heck, when Bush buys back the Rangers, he could use this guy on their pitching staff. He certainly throws harder than anyone the Rangers have put out there recently.
Actually I’m pretty sure that Saddam, were he still in power, would have respected the freedom of anyone to throw shoes at Bush. Saddam was a big free expression guy that way. ;-)
After my initial anger at the obvious insult, and the fact that this ungrateful SOB would never ever dare throw a shoe at any MidEast leader, as evil and corrupt as they are, I have my thing to say to this miscreant:
You throw like a girl!
but NOT an American girl!!!! :)
i even see responses saying “at least it hit the american flag” which prompted me to reply to that insidious comment.
Supposedly Bush waved off the SS. They WERE there though.
I know. I was just pointing out that the fact that he tossed the shoe does not mean they (the crowd) were not checked for weapons prior to the event.
