Here's a sample 8th grade test, circa 1800:

It's part of the problem yeah. And yes I have seen one. There are tons of those old tests floating around the Net. Outside the context of the time they were given it's not reasonable to compare. Those turn-of-the-century 8th graders wouldn't be able to answer many of the questions (especially science) questions asked of students today.

Read again, then go research countless polls on all of the major issues... You will find with little effort, that the line you quoted is 100% true and accurate...as is the balance of the column.

To solve problem, as article makes clear, send money. Also, until next election when we can begin to erode their control of government, we need to rebut every item on their agenda: Card check, CO2 global warming, health care, treaties (Law of Sea etc) making USA vassal to corrupt UN. Do this by contacting Congess, writing letters to editors, call-in shows, monitoring their websites and inserting posts that are not slander but facts. Reference articles. Make a case. We all must educate ourselves on all the issues that are going to come up and we must disseminate these ideas to friends and relatives and co-workers gracisouly, kindly, with humour, tact, and dignity. We must be relentless in our opposition at every opportunity.

I'll be gratefully surprised if anything short of Gun-n-Gallows CAN stop what is happening. People want the system to, say, force Obozo to show his BC. If he refuses, as he will, and no one in office or power does anything then only we the people can force the issue. No One in power seems to have any sense of responsibility to law and order or to the wishes of most voters (bail out, auto bailout). They do as they please and ignore what they want to ignore.

Here is but one reason the libs want to control educaton. This is a sample from a 8th grade level test circa 1800:

Geography (Time, one hour) 1. What is climate? Upon what does climate depend?

2. How do you account for the extremes of climate in Kansas?

3. Of what use are rivers? Of what use is the ocean?

4. Describe the mountains of North America.

5. Name and describe the following: Monrovia, Odessa, Denver, Manitoba, Hecla, Yukon, St. Helena, Juan Fernandez, Aspinwall & Orinoco.

6. Name and locate the principal trade centers of the U.S.

7. Name all the republics of Europeand give the capital of each.

8. Why is the Atlantic Coastcolder than the Pacific in the same latitude?

9. Describe the process by which the water of the ocean returns to the sources of rivers.

10. Describe the movements of the earth. Give the inclination of the earth.

Sadly, if Americans lack the backbone to stop this by peaceful process, then there is little chance that they will be willing to die for any of it...

If they won’t part with their money for what is right, what are the odds they will volunteer their lives when that’s all that is left?

I don't agree. Those are the basics/foundation on which the knowledge of today are built upon.

That's like saying our past history need not be taught. Without knowledge of history, there is no way to value the freedom you have now.

Yet Americans can't figure out how they are losing their nation to leftists, let alone figure out what to do about it.

1)sanction of the victim, altruism, collectivism, statism, and socialism must end and instead
2)reason
3)rational egoism
4)individualism
5)limited government
6)capitalism

LOL...Actually I meant that I missed a paragragh tag for number one, messing up the formatting a bit, so I used the tag to illustrate it, thereby creating another paragraph in my post to you.

But I get what you are saying :)

Atheism is just another religion and as any other young religion it opposes all other one, and world 'secular' is usually used for thing either unrelated to religion or equally applicable to any religion.

BTW 'secular socialism' is an oxymoron, most known socialisms were very atheistic.
