EXCELLENT column on why we are losing America to the left and we have only ourselves to blame! We either see it, learn it and correct it, or lose it all!

It definitely isn’t “We the People.” Washington has become a government of the politicians, by the politicians FOR the politicians.

Somebody threw the term ‘The iron law of oligarchy’ at me the other day. Haven’t heard it since college, and even then, never used it in a sentence. Have to revisit it.

My guess as to why we, the backbone of America, do not spend as much on all the hot button political issues as the leftists do is simply this: we give our money to altruistic causes like the Christian church, and various relief organizations.
Maybe that’s overy simplistic. But I’ve seen several studies that show conservative Christians give far more to charity than the Left. Now we know where the Left spends its money.

"Even early 19th century Americans like Roger Baldwin, founder of the ACLU, understood this."

"Joe McCarthy warned of a communist movement in Hollywood many years ago."

Couldn't the writer have done some basic research?

Did not see anything excellent on some issues he is not even right - e.g. Obama and his supporters' agenda is not secular it is atheistic.

Some of his conclusions are right, but hey even a broken clock show right twice in a day.

I believe ACORN has received $800 million of TAXPAYER money.

In that case the left is not spending their own money, they are spending OUR money and everyone else’s.

A guerilla army succeeds by winning small battles where loot, arms and supplies are the spoils. Then they grow and repeat this formula.

The left is using our resources against us. Of course they plead their purpose as voter registration drives, ‘Get Out the Vote’, etc.

Yes, but if this is what they believe; why do we have elitists? Aren’t they subjected to the same beliefs?

It’s more like a con artist’s biggest con game.

Chains that people like Karl Marx put around them.

"70% of Americans oppose everything the left and the incoming Obama campaign stand for"

Dream on. This is delusional. He didn't get 52% of the vote through hypnotism. There are actual consequences for policy failure on the scale of years of stalement in Iraq or the bubble and stock market crash. "But it's not fair". Whining and $2.50 will get you a cup of coffee...

Here is but one reason the libs want to control educaton. This is a sample from a 8th grade level test circa 1800:

Geography (Time, one hour) 1. What is climate? Upon what does climate depend?

2. How do you account for the extremes of climate in Kansas?

3. Of what use are rivers? Of what use is the ocean?

4. Describe the mountains of North America.

5. Name and describe the following: Monrovia, Odessa, Denver, Manitoba, Hecla, Yukon, St. Helena, Juan Fernandez, Aspinwall & Orinoco.

6. Name and locate the principal trade centers of the U.S.

7. Name all the republics of Europeand give the capital of each.

8. Why is the Atlantic Coastcolder than the Pacific in the same latitude?

9. Describe the process by which the water of the ocean returns to the sources of rivers.

10. Describe the movements of the earth. Give the inclination of the earth.

Yet Americans can't figure out how they are losing their nation to leftists, let alone figure out what to do about it.

1)sanction of the victim, altruism, collectivism, statism, and socialism must end and instead
2)reason
3)rational egoism
4)individualism
5)limited government
6)capitalism

The leftists wouldn’t be able to run away with issue after issue if it wasn’t for the greed for money, power and fame on both sides of the asile.

The only thing that distinguishes most republicans and democrats from one another is who they will give the taxpayers money to first.

When is the last time we saw a real effort to control and reduce spending?

To reduce and eliminate useless and harmful bureaucracies?

I completely agree with his conclusion — conservatives can’t allow themselves to be outspent — although I find his assertions about the country being overwhelming conservative dubious. Opinions held so lightly held as not to motivate someone’s vote — hardly worthy of the name opinion.

It’s never been more clear that swing voters are effectively non-ideological. No matter what they think they think about taxes or abortion or gay marriage, swing voters vote on vague impressions about leadership or concrete unhappiness about execution or the state of economy. This all worked in Obama’s favor last month, and can work in our favor next time around.
