CHICAGO, Illinois (CNN) President-elect Barack Obama and his transition staff had no inappropriate discussions with either Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich or Blagojevichs staff about filling Obamas vacant U.S. Senate seat, according to a review of transition activities conducted by Obamas staff.
There is nothing in the review that was presented to me that in any way contradicted my earlier statements that this appalling set of circumstances that weve seen arise had nothing to do with my office, Obama said during a news conference Monday afternoon.
Obama noted that U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald, who is heading the investigation of Blagojevich, has requested a weeks delay of the public release of the review so that it would not interfere with an ongoing investigation of the governor.

Obama did not have sexual relations with that man, Governor Blogoviach.
ping for your amusement
ow, my side ...
Well if Obama says so I guess I gotta believe him right LOL
Everything Obama does is "appropriate", therefore, nothing he does is "inappropriate".
Yep.
I like that line so much I’m going to make it my tagline.
Beat me to it.
Not to mention it’s been sanctioned by both Media Matters and FactCheck.org, so why would we doubt it?
Wheeww...The “One” had me worried there. Glad to see that he checked into everything and he reports all is OK. I guess I can move along now. Nice to know that he is such a fair and honest President. But..he did have me worried there...just a bit.
(sarcasm)
Hah!
Obamaloon - Obamalies.
I believe you, Mr. Soetero...I really, really do.
CNN, I also believe you, also, as you would never, ever even think of bending the truth or even having any type of political party favoritism or bias...
Obama is a liar and so is Richardson, so is Emmanuel, so is Clinton...the list is long.
Of course! Didn't we know that?
“according to a review of transition activities conducted by Obama’s staff.”
Of course not.

Yeah. Maybe we should just call Obama "Sparky."
“no inappropriate discussions “......
“no inappropriate relations”.....
I’d almost hate to see what the left would call ‘inappropriate’..
other than conservatives.

Re: Post #20. Is that a $50.00 bill in his left hand?
I certainly hope so.
When I zoomed it, you can see it’s a place card with a bottle of water next to it, and the same to the left of that.
Besides, Blago wanted $500,000 to $1,000,0000.
:)
There is nothing in the review that was presented to me that in any way contradicted my earlier statements that this appalling set of circumstances that weve seen arise had nothing to do with my office, Obama said during a news conference Monday afternoon.””
This is a sentence?
They must have left out the “uhhhhs”
CHICAGO, Illinois (CNN) President-elect Barack Obama and his transition staff "allegedly" had no illegal discussions with either Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich or Blagojevichs staff about filling Obamas vacant U.S. Senate seat, according to a private, internally conducted removal of the remaining, non-deleted, non-shredded transition activities conducted by Obamas staff. "We couldn't find anything to prove we did anything" an anonymous source stated. There is nothing left in the review that was presented to me after all the incriminating items were destroyed that in any way contradicted my earlier statements or incriminates me that this appalling set of circumstances that I carefully orchestrated so it couldn't ever be to me, so maybe if I keep yapping, maybe I can sucker everyone into believing Emmanuel didn't have had nothing to do with it, nor did anyone in my office, Obama lied during a news conference Monday afternoon.
Obama noted that U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald, who is heading the investigation of Blagojevich, has requested a weeks delay of the public release of the review so that it would not interfere with an ongoing investigation of the president-elect.
good one
Well, I just figured they are both cheap bastards.
Listening to this press conference was like watching paint dry. If he isn’t doing a prepared speech in front of cheering supporters, he is a cure for insomnia....
Mule fritters!
Quick! Someone call Rahm-e at the fortress of solitude and tell him he can come home now.
Mr. Obama is going to find out that such lawyerly evasions and qualifications fall on seriously cynical ears in the country since the presidency of Bill Clinton.
Now a majority of the public can (and does) parse the statements of politicians with such a finely-tuned BS filter, looking at every qualifying adjective as an evasion, every adverb as a limited hang-out... and the result is that even with the press putting on a poodle skirt and waving their pom-poms, there is nothing that a politician can do but issue unequivocal statements to be believed.
And Obama, being a Ivy-League lawyer, is fundamentally incapable of doing that.
So after the honeymoon glow wears off, he’s going to be reduced to having his every utterance parsed by the opposition, re-parsed by his staff/supporters and dissected by the press and pundits like a lab specimen for legal nuance - all because we’ve been here before with another Ivy-League lawyer.
Eventually he (and his staff) are going to grow weary of the effort to qualify, re-qualify and re-re-qualify his every utterance, and he, like Clinton in his second term, is going to find it difficult to retain members of his administration.
After this, the GOP should stand up and say “This is what happens when you elect Ivy League lawyers.”
And the GOP should make sure that they don’t run an Ivy League lawyer (or worse, a Harvard MBA) for POTUS.
"Okay, tell ya what...let me and my people look into me and my people and we'll get right back to you on that."
I smell Obamaswamp gas!!!!
I know it won't happen, but there is a reason why we do not investigate ourselves.
I expect his entire presidency to be full of these moments.
That is, unless we do something about it.
I don’t think this is over ... yet
