Shoe insult against Bush resounds in Arab world

BAGHDAD: A day after an Iraqi television journalist threw his shoes at President George W. Bush at a news conference here Sunday, his act of defiance toward the American commander in chief reverberated throughout Iraq and across the Arab world.

In Sadr City, the sprawling Baghdad suburb that has seen some of the most intense fighting between insurgents and U.S. soldiers since the 2003 invasion, thousands of people marched in his defense. In Syria, he was hailed as a hero. In Libya, he was given an award for courage.

Throughout much of the Arab world Monday, the shoe-throwing incident generated front-page headlines and continuing television news coverage. A thinly veiled glee could be discerned in much of the reporting, especially in the places where anti-American sentiment runs deepest.

We sent cruise missiles and smart bombs and took out two of their countries. They throw two shoes and think they are ahead.

The Arab world (and everyone else) has watched the Code Pinkos and other kooks disrupt events for years, and not end up dead. It didn’t take any courage at all for this idiot to scream and throw shoes; he knew he’d maybe get a slap on the wrist and the adulation of other idiots.

Imagine a reporter throwing a shoe at the leader of any one of these "Arab" countries where the reporter is being hailed as a "hero".

...Just imagine what would happen to him. Pretty gruesome to think of.

Well, the United States just elected an appeaser and some asshat journalist just threw shoes at the President of the United States with apparent impunity. The next act of major league terror is coming soon to a city near you. The government will not be able to protect you. Take steps to protect yourself and your family.

“In Sadr City, the sprawling Baghdad suburb that has seen some of the most intense fighting between insurgents and U.S. soldiers since the 2003 invasion, thousands of people marched in his defense.”

Napalm and cluster bombs. The damnable Iraqi personnel that were supposed to provide security should be in prison.
