Well I’ll be dipped!

I thought my ceramic bars were the best I could get.

I’m going to look into this process more deeply!

Thank You!

I've also had great results with the Firestone ceramics (double-hollow grind) and maintaining the edge with the strop. I expect to lose the smaller hollow grind, but as long as the edge is maintained, it's a moot point.

This Strop from Rick Butz is the one I use.

I like it because it is big enough for large blades. You can make you own. its just leather glued to a board "split side" out

Ceramic and water stones work. I prefer the traditional tools.

And damn nit! They work GREAT!

Just use that herb’s yellowstone. A few swipes back and forth ant you are razor sharp. It really is all you need for a compound and one 6 dollar bar will last a lifetime

BTW guys. I cut a piece of old leather belt, butter the yellowstone onto the split leather side, fold it into a U shape and use that to polish feed ramps on pistols

You will find yellowstone is great. It is aggressive but not overly so. you dont have to worry about removing excess metal
