New Audio and Video: Jim Jones & Jonestown dying for Marxist-Leninsm
Audio & Video Tapes from Jonestown ^ | Chuck Noblett

Posted on 12/15/2008 10:33:00 PM PST by ChuckNoblett

Some interesting new audio and video of Jim Jones and the citizens of Jonestown doing, among other things, declaring that their "Revolutionary Suicide" is to further the cause of Marxist-Leninism.

They took a vote three weeks before Ryan arrived and unanimously voted for it. It includes some video of members specifically discussing dying for Maxist-Leninism.

Also, unseen VIDEO (not just audio) of the various members singing the Soviet National Anthem (note: I actually have them doing this 2 times all the way through and the third time for just the last part of the song).

Also includes more previously heard audio, such as Jim's decision in the 1950s that "How Can I demonstate my Marxism? The thought was, infiltrate the church."

Also, Jim declaring a day before Ryan arrives that he's not going to let the opportunity slip by to shoot Ryan. Note that the video contains excepts of Jim using quite a bit of salty language (he cussed worse than any Marine), including the N-word, which Jim used repeatedly.

...Jones was much more than a face in a photo-op. Democratic San Francisco Mayor George Moscone appointed him to the city’s housing authority. Willie Brown, who later served as Democratic Speaker of the California Assembly, in 1976 introduced Jones as a combination Martin Luther King, Angela Davis, Albert Einstein and Chairman Mao.

That same year Senator Walter Mondale, later elected vice president, invited Jones to meet with him on his campaign plane. The People’s Temple chief also had a personal meeting with Jimmy Carter’s wife, Rosalynn.

Jones referenced that in 1977 when he wrote to the First Lady and recommended the U.S. government give Cuba medical supplies. He mentioned his “deep appreciation for the privilege of dining privately with you prior to the election.” She replied by saying she’d enjoyed the experience and hoped the U.S. would adopt his suggestion on Cuba.

When Jones moved his operation to Guyana, he brought with him written accolades from several liberal Democrats.

Wrote Walter Mondale: “Knowing of your congregation’s deep involvement in the major social and constitutional issues of our country is a great inspiration to me.”

Alaska Senator Mike Gravel thought the People’s Temple “was almost too good to be true.” California Congressman Don Edwards expressed the wish that “there were more like the people of the People’s Temple Christian Church.”

Joseph Califano, an official in the Kennedy and Johnson administrations and secretary of health, education and welfare for Jimmy Carter wrote Jones: “Knowing your commitment and compassion, your interest in protecting individual liberty and freedom have made an outstanding contribution to furthering the cause of human dignity.”

Former Vice President Hubert Humphrey said that Jones’ work “is testimony to the positive and truly Christian approach to dealing with the myriad problems confronting our society today.”

What people don’t understand is that far Left policies end up being is totalitarism, not freedom.

Charity via taxes, no ownership of private property, political prisoners, food shortages, censorship, quotas vs. achievement, hatred of religion, praise of all things deviant, confiscation of guns, hamstringing business, faux global warming hysteria, controlled schools, appeasment of killers...

We may face a second revolution in our lifetimes if the nation is to survive the Commies, they are not only in Russia, China, Cuba, Venezuela and North Korea...they live in newspapers, TV, radio, magazines, statehouses, Congress and soon in 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

WOW! I wonder why we never heard about this. Jim Jones pretty much had the keys to the city of San Francisco in the 70s. Willie Brown, Harvey Milk and Governor Moonbeam all were very supportive of Jones. They are all on the left politically. Jones was an avowed Marxist.

Again I ask, why didn’t we hear anything about his radical leftist ideology? This nutcase even admitted that he had become an athiest. The MSM did not cover that reality, even after he lead his flock into mass suicide.

If you have ever needed an example of the bias of the MSM, this is it. San Francisco has become an abominable sewer. I feel sorry for the good people who live there. There must be some there. I guess they are just outvoted all the time.

I always felt that the whole People's Temple 'thing' was some kind of sick human experiment and Jim Jones was chosen by the backers of the experiment as the perfect catalyst. Too many government officials ect were egging Jones on to go to the next level.... But what do I know.... ;)

RIP Leo Ryan

I work there and saw Moonbeam in a grocery store in Oakland.

They still love their commies as the illegal gang and inner-city murder increase every year in the Bay Area.

Denial and praise of the anti-American position was, is and always will be part of the San Francisco “Values” system of Marxism they love.

Jim Jones offered change, and his followers believed in it.

I saw that story about the shoe tosser with the Che poster in the background. A tipoff to us all that this guy was a Communist out to hate America with his shoes.

Many people don't realize that he was an anti-suicide activist, too. On Memorial Day in 1977, shortly before going to Jonestown, he held a demonstration in support of an anti-suicide barrier on the Golden Gate Bridge. But there's foreshadowing in some of his remarks...

'Suicide is a symptom of an uncaring society ... The suicide is the victim of conditions we cannot tolerate and ... (pause) ... I guess that was Freudian because I meant to say which he cannot tolerate, which overwhelm him, for which there is no recourse ... I have been in a suicidal mood myself today for perhaps the first time in my life, so I have personal empathy for what we are doing here today. Thank you.'
Incidentally, two months ago, the Golden Gate Bridge directors just passed a vote to install a $40-50 million stainless-steel net. They totally ignored the polls and taxpayers' wishes, and held a surprise vote, two weeks early. "Our next big challenge is to come up with the money," [Mary Currie, bridge district spokeswoman] said.
