Skip to comments.Shoe thrower 'beaten in custody'
Posted on 12/16/2008 6:51:52 AM PST by blueminnesota
Muntadar al-Zaidi has suffered a broken hand, broken ribs and internal bleeding, as well as an eye injury, his older brother, Dargham, told the BBC.
(Excerpt) Read more at news.bbc.co.uk ...
I think he should be thrown in prison for a long time, but I actually don’t think it shows that Iraq is moving in the right direction when he’s beaten in jail instead of questioned.
Guess his reflexes were not so quick.
I wonder if they beat him with his shoe.
Btw...this is a BBC report...take it with many grains of salt.
here’s what happens next: bush will be expected to have the guy pardoned. if he does not, he will be come even more evil than he already is — thus proving the msm’s points all along.
Do you think he was disappointed to only be arrested and beaten?
If he threw a shoe at saddam he would be tortured and thrown off a roof
Any similarities between this shoe act and the “Richard_Reidshoe, the bomber” after 9/11 are NOT a coincidence
Would he have thrown Bruno Maglis shoes?
Inquiring O.J. wants to know..
A big grain at that.
I’m inclined to NOT buy the media and family’s claims of abuse until I get validation.
Here’s ‘turn around is fair play’ for you. He will probably get out and write a BS book.... maybe make some money out of it. Aint’ democracy great?
Is that all he got? Please send him here afterwards...
He needed to watch that first step...it’s a killer ;-)
This isn’t funny..!! I’m even getting the feeling they could have put PANTIES ON HIS HEAD...!
Naturally CBS will claim Bush gave the order.
I’m confused by all these protesters. So are they saying they wanted Saddam in there this entire time?? So what, this wasn’t a perfect war. We’ve stated we’re going to leave in 2012.
Are these groups of people the ones that were the beneficiaries of the Saddam regime (i.e. the towns he took care of) while others were raped and tortured?
His brother said...
Consider the source, first and foremost.
aw gee, this saddens me deeply! As several columnists have said today, if this had happened in Sadam’s Iraq, he would have been tortured and killed pretty quickly - probably along with family members! As an American, I was offended by this yo-yo! What really infuriates me is that because of the deaths of over 4,000 fine young men and women, he has the freedom to pull this stunt and he (and our media idiots) don’t even seem to realize it!
I dare say most of his injuries occured during the first 30 seconds. The Secret Service types are not going to be particularly gentle while subduing somebody, in that situation. Nor should they be.
I got no problem with this.
He’s saying this, I trust, to express gratitude and amazement that his idiot brother is still alive? To express his shame and mortification at his idiot brother’s actions? To let the world know what a benevolent and kind country America is, when any other nation would have disappeared his idiot brother once an useful information was wrung out of his miserable carcass?
I dont dig what he did desrespecting our POTUS but beating the man to a bloody pulp does not fit the crime.
I heard one MSM news outlet say when the USSS escorted him out of the press room he was bloody.
I dont believe that.
If only it were true.
Considering that he doesn’t have a shoe embedded deep in his intestines means he got off too easy.
Sounds like a happy ending to me.
It don’t me.
Thank God they didn’t put ladies underwear on his head.
Agree. . .appropriate punishment for the crime.
>>> but I actually dont think it shows that Iraq is moving in the right direction when hes beaten in jail instead of questioned.<<<
First, most importantly, because he was not just hauled out, tortured and shot, and his family done the same, speaks volumes about how far they have moved in the right direction. Besides, this “report” is based upon his brother and reported by the BBC. . . .I am sure there is no misinformation, there.
I was very impressed with President Bush’s reflex action when the first shoe flew. He looked like a 20 year old with his reflex time.
This idiot did a great job of showing the world what a wack job a small portion of Iraqis are. This moron will never understand freedom means actually being able to do & say things without getting a bullet in the head.
He was smiling as he ducked. I loved his reaction. It was one of “The US Military and my decision to send them here gave these people the freedom to do just this” and that is real freedom.
Darn. No. Don’t. Stop.
I have a son in the USMC in Falluja right now.
I take serious offense at your stupid belief that 4,000 families agree as you do that their loved ones lives were wasted.
Which fellow are you indicating? Because if you are indicating 4,000 families want to take a wack at President Bush you are a left wing nut. If you are referring to the journalist, I apologize for my earlier post.
Man, those Muslims sure are a peaceful bunch!
“Im inclined to NOT buy the media and familys claims of abuse until I get validation.”
Exactly, please send his hand, ribs, and his internal organs to a lab for intensive study to determine the validity of these claims.
