CHICAGO Shortly after his 2002 election, Gov. Rod Blagojevich told Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. he didn't appoint the congressman's wife as lottery director because he had refused him a $25,000 campaign donation, a person familiar with the conversation told The Associated Press on Tuesday. "Blagojevich went out of his way to say, 'You know I was considering your wife for the lottery job and the $25,000 you didn't give me? That's why she's not getting the job,'" the person said, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the ongoing federal investigation.
Jackson's name has played prominently ever since Blagojevich was arrested last week on corruption charges, including allegations that he tried to sell or trade President-elect Barack Obama's vacant Senate seat for personal gain.

That means that JJR was open to using influence, even if he didn’t do a $$$$ exchange in that instance. Why else would his wife have even been considered?

You haven’t seen anything yet, Obama’s pay to play will make all this look like child’s play. Starting with the unions, the enviro-nuts and continuing from there.

a $25,000 campaign donation Yeah. I'm sure he would have spent in on yardsigns. This isn't just about Blagojevich. This is about everyone of the schmucks that prattles about being a "public servant."

A large legislative pay off to the hospital sent by Obama, it was all bought and paid for with taxpayer money instead of graft, so that makes it “legal” and “ethical”.

If Blagojevich was blatantly doing this kind of stuff as far back as 2002...you just know his friend and supporter Obama had to get tangled up in something, somewhere, somehow between then and now.

Here's something that will probably NOT be discussed on the MSM. Barry came out of the same premordial soup as Blago. Blago (pg 64 in the complaint) was whining that he wanted the same deal(s) for Patty as Barry apparently got for Michelle-Omarosa - who got a board position for a Walmart supplier and a $370k job at the University of Chicago Hospital.
IMO, Blago is still holding out for the best deal possible.

I wonder how much money changed hands to get Michelle O that cushy do nothing $300k a year hospital job. Just yikes. Think about it. All these politicians' deals revolved around jobs their wives would be awarded. So MO was awarded her job for something Obama promised. Don't think I've seen anything speculating on what Obama gave away to get his wife that job.

No: It isnt unbelievable at all. Its the way things work in politics. Blago is just a litle more in the open than most, and Chicago is a little more corrupt than most cities.
Do you really think lobbyists go to the Hill with nothing in their kit?
It’s junkets, it’s rides on the corporate jet,it’s jobs for the wife and kids. Most times it isn’t cash but its certainly corrupt.
Certainly Obama know’s the rules, he had his wife working at a $300,000 job at a hospital because the Obama was in a posiion to hand out earmarks. Does anyone think that hospital will hire another lady and pay her that kind of salary?
In politics there is a rule, Money talks, and BS walks.
