I normally don't stay up late enough to watch Late Night with David Letterman, but I happened to catch a little of it Thursday night, when Sen. John McCain was on. David Letterman make a rude joke about Gov. Sarah Palin, and John McCain laughed at it. That is when I realized I am done with John McCain.
. . . . .
If I were Rod Blago, I'd use some nice four-letter words to describe how I feel about Sen. McCain, but I'm not, so I won't.
. . . . .
I'm glad Sen. McCain didn't win the election. This way, I don't have to defend him anymore. If he were president, and he screwed up, or did something that was moderate, Republicans would have gotten the blame.
I'm washing my hands of Sen. McCain.
I'm tired of defending RINOs.
I'm not doing it anymore, and I know many in the Republican party are tired of it, too.

I've been done with Juan "Lettuce" McAmnesty for a long time. |

He played his part. Now he needs to be ignored. He is, as Denny Green once said, exactly who we think he is.
Not quite. McCain is still dangerous until 2010, or whenever he gets defeated for re-election.
A RINO!
Amen. And it says a lot about why he really chose Sarah Palin to be his runningmate.
McCain can go to h#ll. As far as Letterman I hope he eats bacon and eggs every morning.
Dont care for McCain ... never did ... I voted against Obama..!
I second the sentiment. Besides, Sarah always wore the pants in that campaign.
the more I think about it, the more I believe McCain was just a place saver....a Dole like candidate who had no intention or winning and he choose Sarah because she would bring in money......OUR MONEY...and maybe save a few Senate seats and House seats....
he threw her to the wolves ......
remember....support the candidate, not so much the party big shots....or support the Pacs....any group that supports our way of thinking.....
we can't really trust the Pub stiffs to do the right thing...
You are right, it was theatrics.
Well, Lisa, you are about 10 years behind me.
I wanted Huckabee. I still like him but I realize he doesn’t stand a chance.
We need fresh blood.
How about John Thune? He is attractive and articulate, is a heartland kind of conservative and has a lovely family.
He is running for senate in 2010, will Republicans vote this guy back into Congress? Or will a real Republican rise up against this RINO?
The old fart owes Gov. Palin - big time - for not getting thoroughly embarrased on Election Day. He should not run for re-election in AZ, but ride off into the sunset.
He was the media’s patsy, and he doesn’t even see that he’s been had. I applaud his service, now he needs to stop tarnishing it. Retire, Senator McCain - get a clue!
Yeah, no more RINOS, no more Grandpas. We need fresh, young blood.
Lisa,
Now you know how the rest of us Palin lovers feel!
We never liked McCain to begin with!
I was done with him when I realized he cared more about having democrats like him than he did about winning the election.
Same here. When we lived in AZ we did support McC. But this man has changed..not unlike Goldwater did in his way back in the day. So during this election I voted against 0bama too. It is really sad when we can’t say we voted FOR a candidate.
An officer and a gentleman he is not...
That’s pretty much how I feel. I supported him only as the anti-Obama ( and he’s not, really). My heart could never be in it, though.
I voted for Palin.
I can’t stand McNuts.
He’s much more than a RINO. He was in the right place, at the right time, to come up short. Palin was his best ruse. Problem is, she’s the real deal. He’s the real schwantz.
He is a two-faced creep.
LOL, well it took Lisa long enough!
I was done with him around 10 PM CST on Nov 5, 2008.
I think he planned to run against Hillary but relaxed when she failed to get the nomination. He was cool with an Obama presidency.
Well, like Love Story, writing in Duncan Hunter means never having to say I’m sorry.

10 “McCain was just a place saver....a Dole like candidate who had no intention or winning”
I HAVE NO RESPECT FOR JOHN MCCAIN, GREAT OR OTHERWISE
“I’m glad Sen. McCain didn’t win the election. This way, I don’t have to defend him anymore.”
well, if he won, even Hannity wouldn’t defend him the way he has defended Bush.
“I’m glad Sen. McCain didn’t win the election.”
File under; “Cannot be repeated often enough.”
I was done with him since the presidential debates of 2000.
Im glad Sen. McCain didnt win the election.
That’s the consolation we have for Obama winning. I realized since the election how disgusted I would have felt if McCain were the president elect.
It took you this long? I was done with Juan McPain when he introduced that monstrosity of a liberty killing bill with the Rat Feingold. I would have voted third party in the last election if it hadn't been for Sarah Palin. The man has become a disgrace.
That about says it for me also
John McWho?
We don’t need fresh young blood or tired old blood.
We need a leader.
McCain is a floater. You flush and flush and flush but he won’t go away.
Exactly. I was done with McCain before he ran and during the campaign and now I am completely OVER him. UGH We can thank him for the lying, cheating, socialist we have now getting ready to move into OUR White House.
Well stated. I don’t watch Letterman either (although I used to, back during his early NBC years, in the early-to-mid-80s; I actually rather liked his show then). But, I did turn on the tv last Thursday night, as that interview with McCain was going on. Out of morbid curiosity, I decided to watch. Especially to see if the topic of Sarah Palin came up, as I’d heard Letterman had really been busy viciously pummelling her as a butt of jokes recently.
What did I see? Well, I saw McCain go out of his way to say what a marvelous Secretary-of-State that Hillary would make... and what a great guy and fine friend Ted Kennedy is... and what a terrific danger ‘global warming’ is, and seemingly agreeing with Letterman that the government should force the auto industry to make ‘green’ cars. Watching all this just made me want to vomit.
Then, of course, this Sunday, McCain continued his rampage on the talk-show circuit, condemning the GOP for daring to criticize Obama and Chicago-style politics, and then later on, capping things with that dismissal of supporting Palin as a potential candidate in 2012. I swear, although I cringe at all the horrific challenges that we face with Obama and the Dem-controlled Congress, I’m downright RELIEVED that we don’t have to endure McCain as president. In other words, it’s better to see your attacker in front of you, than be constantly stabbed in the back.
You can’t have a good leader without good blood. The two go together. “For the life of the flesh is in the blood.” Leviticus 17:11
I could only think of about one thing I liked in John McCain.
One thing.
He hates budget earmarks as much as I do.
That's all.
OK, I’ve had enough.
Please read this thread to realize my frustration with McCain - and this is only the tip of the ice berg.

If we can organize AZ FReepers around a conservative Arizonian willing to take him on, please private mail me. I am willing to take him on - cash included.
McCain is a big part of our problem. He must be retired the Republic way.
Jindal/Palin in 2012. (hopefully).
What took ya so long?
McCain is a disgrace. At some point along with Bush they have all become Democrats and they are just as much to blame for the continue failure of our country.
It is going to take occupation by a foreign force here before we wake up and start doing what’s right to make our country strong.
I can see this country fracturing within the next decade the divides are too great and the issues that are creating the divides are so decisive. There is no middle ground on the majority of them and the raging left loons are pushing this to the level that is going to create serious unrest.
In the past peaceful demonstrations were effective because the press and media gave them adequate coverage now anything that demonstration that is against the raging left will be whitewashed and the frustration levels are going to boil over.
I'm tired of defending RINOs.
There's a lot I don't like about McCain, e.g., immigration, support for bailout, etc. In a two party system you rarely get everything you want. Take a look at how the DUmmies hate Obama's appointments of old Clinton hands to cabinet positions.
Unless you prefer a parliamentary system, then you will find yourself needing to support a lesser of two evils type candidate.
I voted for Huckabee - but now I am glad he didn’t get the nomination!
I like Huckabee - but he has the same problem as McCain - He cottons up to the liberals!
Have you see Huckabee’s show on Fox? There for a whle he had quite a few liberals - “to hear” their views! Including that disgusting, empty-headed Bill Maher! I’m tired of conservatives having to “hear the views” of liberals but not the other way around - they will not hear our views!
