Our public school system is based on the system developed by the Kaiser of Germany to instill loyalty to the government.
In 2007, 29 percent of eighth grade students scored at or above grade-level in reading, 31 percent in math, and 31 percent in writing. In 2005, 27 percent of eighth grade students were at or above grade level in science.
Wow, our schools really suck.

It is hard to see why he is painted as some successful reformer, when the change has not been big.
