What punishment does the Koran suggest for throwing shoes at a powerful leader?

This guy was probably one of the millions who danced in the streets of the Middle East on 9/11 celebrating the destruction of the World Trade Center.

The request is not genuine.

This shoe thrower will spend the rest of his life as a hero to Allah.

He will be an honored guest at every mosque. This pardon is for the west. The muslims love what he did.

Muntadhar al-Zeidi in the letter recalls the kindness the prime minister once showed him during an interview in 2005 and asked for al-Maliki to show him kindness once again.

It isn't Maliki he offended. Its Bush and the United States. So unless he is prepared to ask us for forgiveness, its meaningless.

Two years in prison is silly. A month or two waiting for trial is about right.

Unlike Saddam, be merciful to him: Feed him head-first into a fast plastic shredder.

Fox news showed some pictures of the thrower's home (?), including a portrait of Che.
Within days of the shoe throwing there is rumor of a coup, planned, thwarted, or carried out, in Baghdad.
Barry dismissed the importance of Iraq throughout his campaign and I'm sure his overseas cousins took due note.
Oh, yeah...wagging the dog might be an apt response to current Illinois political currents.

I'm wondering if Biden's "engineered crisis" is shaping up already.

“...a correspondent for an Iraqi-owned television station..”

who else owns television stations over there?? I thought all Islamic countries own all the stations.

Pardon the guy, get over it. Show that the US is bigger than a guy throwing a shoe. We did it once already (Khruschev).

Sentenced to house arrest and a 2-year job at Lady Foot Locker. He has to wear that referee shirt, too.

This is so very typical of the Arab mindset. Talk a big game, throw the first punch...but when you start getting your arse kicked, beg for a time out/forgiveness/ceasefire etc. Screw you, shoe thrower.

Dear Saddam,

I'm sorry for throwing a shoe at you.

Saddam: Put him in the meat grinder feet first!

Hang him upside down by his feet, then whip his feet a thousand times with a cane. Then his request for forgiveness would sound genuine.
