President Barack Obama has selected Rev. Rick Warren, the senior pastor of Saddleback Church in Southern California to give the invocation at the Inauguration. The reaction to this choice filled every media source, both pro and con, on Thursday. It has been in the news cycle ever since. There is no question that Pastor Warren is a well known figure in the evangelical world. He is also well respected among Catholics, and even more so since his excellent handling of the Saddleback Civil Forum which hosted both major party candidates during the Primary Campaign for the U.S. Presidency...

Did Warren also contribute money to ACORN to elect baby killers like the Catholic Church?

Pray for people who are going to push a hard core abortion agenda? No thanks. I will pray for the babies they murder.

I have to agree. I know a lot of Freepers are really ticked off about Warren going there, and I'm not a fan of his at all, but....we are commanded to pray for our enemies.

That God, always telling us to do things we don't like to do. That's how it is.

Some have mentioned he ain't no Billy Graham, but...they forget he met with all the Presidents, including the abortionists, like Carter and Clinton.

There is a local Pentecostal pastor who actually met and prayed with Yassir Arafat years ago. And he's not a wishy-washy type, he's a hardcore, full-Gospel, no-nonsense Christian. Was that wrong? It's my human tendency to think "What in the H were you thinking by doing that?!"

But you never know what God might do in a situation like that.

Sometimes He says yes, and sometimes He says no.

Rick Warren is no Saul of Tarsus. This is more feelgood pap for the Obamacult and prequel to Gay marching band on inaugural day.

Is Warren another feel good propserity preacher? God wants you to be rich? Like Joel Osten and his trophy wife who abused the stewardess in first class on their Christmas skiing in Vail? What a bunch of phonies.

Praise God and Jesus not some phony preachers writing books and with TV shows or priests & bishops who fund ACORN.

Like I said, I don’t care for Warren all that much. I don’t care much for any of the feel-good preachers, I tip toward the “there are consequences to your actions” types, because that’s what I’ve seen in my life. However, it will depend upon the message he puts out there on inauguration day. We shall wait and see.

We who are Christians are commanded to pray for those in leadership. We also believe in the power of prayer to change hearts as well as to change the course of Nations. If the early Christians of Rome did not pray for the civil authorities and continue to engage the culture, Constantine may have neer opened up the empire to the truth of the Christian faith.

"We who are Christians are commanded to pray for those in leadership."

That's right, whether we like, or can support their policies or not.

" I desire therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men: 2 For kings, and for all that are in high station: that we may lead a quiet and a peaceable life in all piety and chastity. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth." 1 Tim 2:1-4.
