Franken takes the lead in Minnesota
The Hill ^ | 12/19/08 | Michael O'Brien

Posted on 12/19/2008 12:45:11 PM PST by cdchik123

For the first time since Election Day, Democrat Al Franken is ahead of incumbent Norm Coleman (R) in Minnesota’s still-undecided Senate race.

According to a tally by the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, Franken has taken the lead as the state’s Board of Canvassers continues to review ballots challenged by both campaigns during the state's hand recount.

When I heard the news this morning I got physically ill. I wanted to vomit, the thought of Franken in the Senate, is just as scary as Obama in the White House. This just proves if you cheat, you will get away with it as long as your a liberal Democrat

I cannot believe how stupid - with apologies to any unfortunate Minnesota Freepers - people must be in that state. This is truly an unconscionable, demented thing they have done, putting a POS like Al Franken in the US Senate. Although, he really is not much different from other democrat POS like former US Capitol Police Officer Harry Reid, and so forth.

I actually called Coleman’s office this morning to tell them how outraged I was at what was going on. I know this does no good most likely, but I think they need to hear that people are watching.

Anyway, the lady in his office said that the only thing that can be done at this point is to give to the MN recount fund at 651-645-0766.

This whole situation is incredible.

Rum helps.

Can you imagine Franken at the State of the Union, barefoot with his legs up on the chair in front of him, crackin jokes with Caroline and letting out a “hee haw” from time to time. The Senate has gone comedian, and not in a good way.

If Franken wins, it would be a case study in why we desperately need to limit those who should be allowed to vote. Maybe at a minimum, your IQ should be a higher number than your age.

When I heard the news this morning I got physically ill.

Me too, SB.

For Franken, (who could play himself as a reptilian villain in a Batman film) so obviously to steal an election in broad daylight makes the wholesale corruption by DEMOCRATS of free elections that much more of an expected occurrence.

Democrats (and Marxists) hate free people, they hate our fine Country, and they fear and hate free elections.

Since the Coleman camp (typical of Republicans) has used the usual GOP strategy of releasing an ambiguous statement that tells supporters nothing at all,

DOES ANYONE AT FR have any true explanation as to why Norm Coleman might not have lost this election for good?

I'd like some good news here, and team Coleman's press release (”Stuff happens, don't worry. We expect to win but have no explanation as to how”) is lacking, to say the least.

Help, anyone? is this over now?

"My best guess, the GOP will roll over like a dead cockroach"!

And why?

I think this best explains it:

“DOES ANYONE AT FR have any true explanation as to why Norm Coleman might not have lost this election for good?”

As of 4:57 p.m. EST, the number of adjudicated challeged ballots is 847 for Coleman challenges, vs 471 for Franken. Franken leads by 249, but it’s only a temporary situation. Most of the challenges are being tossed back to the original recipient of the vote. Please note there have been frivolous challenges on both sides.

With this in mind, when the board resumes looking at Franken’s challenges, Coleman will start racking up votes again.

There are more than 5,400 challenged votes to go, so this is going swings back-and-forth until it’s finished.
I was aggravated when I saw Franken taking the lead, too, but watching the process unfold helps it make sense. I believe that’s why the GOP is not saying anything YET, because the process is still a ways from being complete. There are still questions to be answered but for now, I think they’re letting the process play out first.

Hope that helps.

The statement from Coleman’s camp sounds pretty confident with the last court ruling also working their way.

I always thought Coleman would come out on top. He has acted and hired a top flight election lawyer. Then yesterday I felt ill, but now I’m somewhat confident things are not going down the tubes after all.

After realizing that from the last 50 years, Dems never lose recounts, and that Hennepin and other Dem areas in Minn. with Dem registrars, Franken cannot now be stopped. Norm will try to use the courts; won’t work. The Leg. will not stop the fraud. ACORN will not be stopped. Cheating and new found votes in this supposed clean state will prevail. The Pubs simply cannot keep up with the Dems when it comes to dealing with vote fraud. Ann Coulter had an odd article on this today. But, the info is not new.

Agreed. Also if you are on welfare and able bodied, you lose the right to vote, once you get off the dole and contribute to society, you get it back.

USA elections are more corrupt than some 3rd world elections. Even Iraq with the “purple finger” technique has more honest elections. At least folks have to vote in person and so illegal voters can only vote once and computer and back-room created imaginary voters can’t be done.

Here? The dead, the illegal and the imaginary vote to turn elections for the Dems anywhere it is close enough.

Plus the One Party Press, aka the “Mainstream Media” serves the same role as Pravda did for the Communist Party in the old USSR, and probably accounted for a 50 pct boost in Obama numbers last election.

Plus all the illegal as heck but gladly accepted and sought out campaign fundings from other countries. Remember Obama’s “world tour” during the campaign?
In your face fund raising overseas.

Yeah, corrupt and incompetent is the state of of the govt here.

Get rid of elections, which are controlled by machine politics anyway and choose all city/state/federal elected positions by random lot, like jury duty, would clean up USA govt. Changing our leaders from mostly corrupt and incompetent, to merely incompetent...a 100 pct improvement right there.

Why do we play. We all know the result is preordained as soon as the recount process begins. The dems will ‘find’, ‘invent’, ‘discover’ or simply manufacture as many ‘votes’ as needed to win. When the republican wins with a margin of less than a percent or so, he should immediately concede. If we participate with the ‘recount’ process we become complicit with the fraud. Simply concede and save everyone the time and money of the process. The end result is the same. The democrat ‘wins’.
