I know professional resumes are very important in some careers, so I advise you all to check out the first site below. Search Google for tips on finding jobs in your profession. Tell everyone you know that you are searching for work. The more eyes looking for you, the better. If you have questions, remember that someone on FR.com DOES KNOW THE ANSWER. So don't be embarrased to ask for assistance!

Have you considered the following:

• * Am I targeting the right market?
  

• * Does my resume say the right things?
  

• * Am I customizing my resume based on the job description? If you're sending out the same resume to each job you apply for, you should seriously consider customizing your resume based on the job you're applying for. Most times the H.R. dunderheads will simply pass you by if your resume doesn't contain the buzzwords they're looking for. Those buzzwords or phrases will be in the job description. The trick is to include them in your resume so that it gets passed onto the hiring manager.

I am not a professional recruiter, just a retired comm tech/rancher so asking me for my advice on how to get hired in a particular career isn't worth more than two cents. My advice for anyone looking for a job...

When you interview for any job, always dress exactly as you would if you were showing up for work in that position.

Never over or under dress for the interview.

It sounds like a simple thing but history proves that managers hire people that “Fit” the position.

Your first impression is important, that starts when you walk in the door!

Most often people way over dress, those are seldom hired.
