BBC ^ | 20 December 2008

The majority of Britons do not believe the Biblical story of the birth of Jesus, a survey has suggested.

Of 1,000 people questioned, 70% doubted the account, according to the British Market Research Bureau.

Almost a quarter of people who described themselves as Christians shared their scepticism.

"But when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on Earth?"
- Luke 18:1-8

Apparently not in the former Great Britain.

Sad. It seems as though, if news accounts of what is going on over there are factual, British beliefs in many areas have greatly diminished over a relatively short time.

Well, on the outside it would appear that that the Brits are taking upon themseleves a bit more of a secular view, I think it’s OK to not be a beleiver. I’m a nice guy, I’ll do what I can, etc...

I think the Brits need to be reminded that the very same thing that has destroyed christianity will wish most of the populous dead because of what they don’t belive in.

Brits beware, accept Alla and Mohammed or die, or kick them mo fo’s out of your nation, hey, Your choice.

Little Carol came into the kitchen where her mother was making dinner. Her birthday was coming up and she thought this was a good time to tell her mother what she wanted.

'Mom, I want a bike for my birthday.'

Now, Little Carol was a bit of a troublemaker. She had gotten into trouble at school and at home. Carol's mother asked her if she thought she deserved to get a bike for her birthday. Little Carol, of course, thought she did. Carol's mother, being a Christian woman, wanted her to reflect on her behavior over the last year, and write a letter to God and tell him why she deserved a bike for her birthday. Little Carol stomped up the steps to her room and sat down to write God a letter.

LETTER 1
Dear God: I have been a very good girl this year and I would like a bike for my birthday I want a red one.
Your friend,
Carol

Carol knew this wasn't true. She had not been a very good girl this year, so she tore up the letter and started over

LETTER 2
Dear God:
This is your friend Carol. I have been a pretty good girl this year, and I would like a red bike for my birthday.
Thank you,
Carol

Carol knew this wasn't true either. She tore up the letter and started again.

LETTER 3
Dear God:
I know I haven't been a good girl this year. I am very sorry. I will be a good girl if you just send me a red bike for my birthday.
Thank you,
Carol

Carol knew, even if it was true, this letter was not going to get her a bike. By now, she was very upset. She went downstairs and told her mother she wanted to go to church. Carol's mother thought her plan had worked because Carol looked very sad.

'Just be home in time for dinner,' her mother said.

Carol walked down the street to the church and up to the altar. She looked around to see if anyone was there. She picked up a statue of the Virgin Mary, slipped it under her jacket, and ran out of the church down the street, into her house, and up to her room. She shut the door and sat down and wrote her letter to God.

LETTER 4
I GOT YOUR MAMA.
IF YOU WANT TO SEE HER AGAIN, SEND THE BIKE.

Recently, I wrote a program for a church group based on the great hymns of Christmas. Many of our favorites were written by English Christians, whose great-great-grandchildren have now abandoned the faith.
God is moving the lampstand that enlightened Britain to other parts of the world, as He writes in Revelation 2:5. I foresee a dark future for her.

St Helen's Church in Bishopsgate, London, which commissioned the survey, has produced a film of "sound evidence" supporting the Bible's account.

This is another survey with an agenda.

The story says nothing about who was surveyed, or the questions that were asked. Color me skeptical of the results.

God would have spared Sodom but for ten righteous souls. Years ago, I had a foolospohy class. The professor's topic for the day was written on the blackboard as follows:

God is Dead (Nietzsche)

So we wrote underneath as follows:

Nietzsche is Dead (God)

Actually, it’s the nature of Bible prophesy - the Bible pretty much says we will become a Godless cesspool under a world society/religion, and that evil will be called good while good is called evil.

Britain is just showing us the way. The same thing is happening here .

Once atheists were isolated people with no belief, now they are organised an attacking the faith of others.

Muslims are attacking Christianity all over the world.

Colleges are hiring criminals like Bill Ayers and Dr. Karenga to teach our youth, what else can be expected.

Oh boy, I like this. Somebody does a survey on just about any subject and, voila, we have truth. If 70% of Britons want to believe they are merely the product of chance or accidents that is surely OK with me.

I read the results of another survey in the past one or two weeks that concluded Britons are the most promiscuous people on the planet. If that survey was true it follows that the best way to justify the bad behavior is to deny one’s soul and conscience. It also follows that the existence of a deity must be denied.

It’s the same dynamic that is driving the anti-Christian crowd in this country. Of course, there is also a political component to this. The left, of course, must make God disappear or become irrelevent to make room for it to become the new God. Promiscuity, aka free sex, has always been a part of the left’s agenda.

Then again, another recent BBC poll posted here on FR revealed that about 40% of Brits didn’t know who Winston Churchill was and about the same fraction also believed Sherlock Holmes was a real person in history. You should also take into account the BBC itself: BC=MSM=NPR=PRAVDA

The BBC is biased ("BBC report damns its ‘culture of bias’", The Sunday Times, June 17, 2007), but St Helen's Church of Bishopsgate commissioned the survey, so that - for me, anyway - adds credibility to it.

Oh, I don’t doubt that the report is accurate and credible in every way. What I would cast a dark eye on is the idea (real or suggested) that somehow faith isn’t valid in the calculus of the popular mind - even in a segment the report labels as “Christians” and “believers.” Of course, the weak-kneed, milquetoast church itself has a lot to do with this. Declining religious convictions are probably as much the fault of apostasy in the church as the leftist secularism in the schools, gub’mint and the BBC.

That was, if memory serves, a poll of schoolchildren. I think the figures were 25% or thereabouts.
