Also, transition team correspondence related to both Blagojevich’s selection process and Obama’s internal review could become public as evidence in the case against Blagojevich, which is partly why some experts questioned the wisdom behind the Obama review. “They’re creating a parallel set of evidence at a time the U.S. attorney is seeking evidence — that’s not what I would be doing,” said Stan Brand, a top Washington defense lawyer who represented then-White House aide George Stephanopolous in the Whitewater investigation. I would love to see him (or more likely his team) get into legal trouble over this supposed exhaustive review. When he did answer questions about the Blago issue, he seemed to be a lawyer representing himself.
