Liberty requires that people have the capacity for self-governance, and it requires that people have an abiding respect for the rights of their neighbors.

How true...Burke stated,“Manners are of more importance than laws... Manners are what vex or soothe, corrupt or purify, exalt or debase, barbarize or refine us, by a constant, steady, uniform, insensible operation, like that of the air we breathe in.”

And one need look no further than where manners stand today in a nation that admires to amuse itself with every example of bad manners that the entertainment media can serve up on the small or the large screen. Further, Leftist politicians and their media lackeys are particularly adept at disrespecting Conservative opponents. Franken's run for the Senate is very instructive.

A majority that cannot govern their own private lives will never submit to leadership which stresses the need for individual responsibility. No, the mob will go for the feel good candidate who promises to enable more of their individual and collective stupidity. Anyway we look at, there's trouble ahead for the USA.
