President-elect Barack Obama’s vacation in Hawaii at $9 million mansion demonstrates his limousine liberal side — just a week after he called for “new ethics” on Wall Street, which he has condemned for “greed” for and luxury living while the rest of the U.S. is grinding through a recession.
The economic downturn, moreover, Obama recently told reporters, “is going to get worse.” As far as the President-elect is concerned, however, these economic realities for regular folks don’t apply to him.
Obama, his wife, and his children, as well as leftist apparatchiks, have rented three mansions on the beach in Hawaii. The former law professor posed for photos on the beach, shirtless, according to television news reports.
Obama’s been eating a local version of sushi, with spam substituted for fish. Apparently, this feast on spam is intended to show Obama’s regular guy persona, and, though he is a graduate of Harvard Law School, and Columbia University, he is not an “elitist.”
At least that was the narrative that the press, covering Obama’s sojourn, during the first day of his trip. Remember, Obama is expected to call for “sacrifice” during his inaugural speech next month in Washington D.C. , and, it has been reported, he will take his oath of office on a bible once owned by Abraham Lincoln.

This story is revealing on two fronts:
—It does show Obama’s elitism and poor judgement (living it up in a time of national economic difficulty)
—It shows (once again) how in love the media are with Obama. The media are so proud that their guy is vacationing in luxury.

My dad was in the army and eats spam and eggs all the time. That came from being stationed out there.

1. If one could ever truly follow the money back to its source, this boondoggle likely was bankrolled by Tony Rezko. If this were ever demonstrated, BHO would issue an apology for his “bone-headed mistake” and MSM would quickly give him a pass.
2. Spending $8,000+ daily on a vacation should in no way be construed as greedy. Remember, corporate executives only care about themselves, but Obama cares about “the people.”
Besides, spending money will help boost the economy.
3. None of us should get upset about this: by the time BHO is done “spreading the wealth” we ALL will be able to bankroll 12 day vacations in Hawaii!
