A former Beverly Hills, Calif. liposuction doctor claimed to have the environment's best interests at heart when he began fueling his and his girlfriend's SUVs with human fat sucked out of his patients.

Unfortunately the practice was illegal, according to California state health officials.

Hey, this is just the ticket for Rosie, Oprah, Baba Streisand, and all liberal "heavyweights"...... too bad this guy is out of the business, but maybe they can find another "doctor" to help them to shape their bodies and power their cars with the fat products...... WOW, this idea has big potential!

Heck, Rosie alone could get the shuttle up.

I could contribute some “lipodiesel” myself, but I don’t think I’d care to go through that procedure.......

It all sounds extremely green and fashionable to me. What’s wrong with those California authorities? Don’t they know that California leads the way and the whole nation follows?

OH, YES, I should not have left Michael Moore off my list — my list was sexist, I’m sorry. Michael Moore alone could power another space shuttle after Rosie’s special sponsored launch......

(actually, I don’t think they could achieve the energy density needed for rocket fuel, so maybe they’d have to settle for powering large ships or cross-country trucks......)

Since human fat is like lard (saturated fat) and hardens at room temperature what does he do to keep it from becoming solid in the tank and the lines to the engine?

I am surprised this works.
Didn’t read the whole story, but he must have had it
processed in some way beyond the “used cooking grease”, which also needs to be filtered and cleaned up before it
is used in cars/vehicles already adapted to burn it.
It’s called “the greasecar movement”.
NOw it seems even highly paid plastic surgeon types are trying to economize/

Add a few chemicals & a little heat - and it catalyzes into various component parts - it’s just another biodiesel.

Reading the whole story reveals a “doctor” just as flaky and unethical as the first paragraph would suggest. He had his license pulled recently because he let unlicensed people do tricky procedures involving lipo needles by themselves. Three patients wound up disfigured according to their lawyer.

maybe it's the same thread. it's just too sick, a bit to Naziesque for me, and each time it reincarnates I am more repusled by it.

Plus I was never fond of very fat people.

Reminds me of an old Cheech and Chong skit (yes, from my mis-spent youth, but I was only 13 years old).... C&C have their car broken down in some urban area and call out to a lounging bystander for some assistance in getting the car out of the street -- the guy replies in strong "ghetto" accent:

"Push the car? Man, get yo' mama to push the car"! ...

I remember being in a nice restaurant about 60 years ago. There was a huge fat lady a couple of tables away. I thought she must be sick to be that fat....until I saw her pile her plate. No sympathy here.

It’s a health law thing, I’m sure. It would be considered medical waste, and there’s probably only specified ways in which it can be used and otherwise must be disposed of as a biohazard. Certainly a good rule in general, I doubt that there was any particular hazard here.

Course, what do they do with the biohazard waste, they INCINERATE it! This guy could probably use that as the basis of his defense.

Here’s the bottom story:

“Several former patients have filed lawsuits against the doctor, claiming he allowed his unlicensed girlfriend and an assistant to perform procedures, causing mistakes that left the patients disfigured, attorney Andrew Besser, who represents three of the former patients, told Forbes.com.”

It’s the GF’s fault.

The last time I was in a super fancy restaurant my date made me eat snails. I really don’t see why people think they are so special or why they are willing to pay so much for them. It’s basically a little piece of rubber dipped in butter. The butter is nice, but the meat is not quite up to par, imo.

Give me a nice little mom&pop italian steak house any day. I’m a sucker for fettuccine alfredo with chicken and a nice big fat salad with lotsa blue cheese crumbs. And I don’t really care if the two of them aren’t supposed to go together or not. Also I prefer beer instead of wine with the meal. A cheap american light beer seems to mix the best with the flavor of the food. The fancier beers will overpower the flavor of the alfredo sauce.

I’ve always said that if you want a good steak, go to a little independent Italian restaurant. The steaks are always exceptional (and the coffee too).

Now I’m hungry.

THere’s a little italian style mom&pop restaurant fairly close to me that is owned by greeks. They do italian food with a greek flair. I think I’m going to have to go there now. I prefer blue cheese crumbs on my salad, but feta cheese works too.

Sorry to come to the thread so late, but I was looking for one specific Oprah thread and came across this one.

Lo and behold, the thread immediately above this one was Oprah falls off the fat wagon (The wagon is grateful).

The titles next to each other are kind of ironic, don't you think?

Cheers!
