Ignoring the drug problems in our country will not make them go away! This is a sample of the violence that is entering our country across the Mexican border. If Americans don't speak up to city, state and federal leaders for action against drugs and violence in our country.....who will??? This is a VERY serious problem....and our law enforcement need the awareness and support of all Americans!!! Pat K.

What we need to do is legalize this crap for anyone over the age of 21.

Let 'em sell it in 5 pound bags at Safe-Way.

Remove the huge black market profits and the gangs disappear.

Or they go into politics in Chicago.

I’ve always wondered why folks think that if there were no profit in drugs that the hardened criminals with no education and no skills will suddenly decide to become law abiding citizens.

THE WAR NEXT DOOR

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2151549/posts

“How do you begin to understand that so many people are dying in Mexico? More than 5,000 casualties because of “narcotrafficking.” That’s more than all of the American troops that have died fighting an actual war in Iraq.”

End the failed drug war. Put violent criminals and government criminals out of business.

Prohibition was a failure. Neoprohibition is a failure as well.

Oh yes, a very serious problem.

Last night at the family Christmas party, my 22 year old nephew and his cousins were smoking pot out by the pool. I called the DEA and they rushed over and tossed all of them in jail where they belong.

I'm with you, I hope they don't get out of prison for fifty years.

Don't waste your time with stupid wonderings like that.

Ask yourself instead why the Budweiser guy isn't shooting it out with the Miller guy over 'turf'.

That's a far more intelligent wondering.

I agree, at least with marijuana. Never things like crystal meth or pure heroin, any war on those has my support.

Just last week I watched a 1999 documentary, “Grass”, about the war on, ah, grass. Too heavy on the hippie angle, I think (why have they monopolized the public image of m.?). A good history, and it shows how much money is going into fighting that aspect of the drug war.

But Obama will be too wimpy to do anything about it, so this is all just fantasy-play anyway.

“Now, in the Netherlands, perhaps the most liberal European country, the government is now shutting down pot shops and legalized brothels. Apparently, organized crime is controlling both over there.”

Should be “plata o plomo”. Silver or lead. Meaning, take the money, or take a bullet, your choice.

Not mine. Let every idiot over 21 buy all he or she wants at market prices, pharma grade.

In about 3 months those idiots will all be dead and the rest of us can get about the business of returning the Federal Government to its proper Constitutional role.

Thereby guaranteeing that organized crime will have even more control and more access to the profits.

Well, nobody said Euros were smart when it comes to the concept of Freedom.

If the pot shops are being run by criminals, solve the problem by selling the stuff at Walmart. If people want to use drugs, they should be able to grow them in their gardens. Much of it is just plant extracts anyway. The government didn’t do anything about it for 150 years, and this country was just fine.

Pose a reasonable question and receive an insult instead of a logical answer. How classy.

And I posted a reasonable thought experiment in reply.

So here it is, all nice and polite:

Pray dear Fellow Freeper answer this riddle;

Why doesn't the Budweiser guy shoot it out with the Miller guy over 'turf'?

I anxiously awaiteth your response.

Best,

L
