If you read “The Purpose Driven Life” and looked up every quoted reference, you would know this man does not make anyone squirm. When Jesus spoke, everyone squirmed and His enemies plotted to kill Him. Warren is an ear-tickler. We’ll see if God hears our prayers for mercy. I plan on mourning that day, as I have been in mourning since election day.

This is just one long puff piece for Rick Warren, who is held in suspicion by many “fundamentalist evangelicals.” Honestly, though, anyone who is so fond of constantly running these two terms together is no friend of either fundamentalists or evangelicals.

I find the tone of this especially odd, in that the author attempts to chip, chip, chip away at the credibility of the movement, and then crowns Rick Warren the consumate fundamentalist evangelical. Which is it, desireable or undesireable? It all apparently hinges upon how it looks for Rick Warren.

Giving credit where credit is due, taking a Godly stand on Prop. 8 in California has had, and will continue to have, real consequences. It’s not just an exercise in speechifying, out there quite literally in the belly of the beast. For that, he has my thanks, as does the Mormon Church. That thankfulness does not extend into uncritical acceptance of either, however.

The very sort of people who hoot derision at all televangelists, appear to be embracing Rick Warren, the pastor of the biggest of the big-box churches. Tell me how the two are any different in practice. How they are different in belief is obvious, and there you have the reason for the embrace, imho.

The “brilliance” for Obama in all of this is not likely to be of his own origination. It’s his Clintonian “Sistah Souljah” moment, on the one hand, likely devised by the Legion of Clintonites he’s surrounded himself with. On the other hand, it’s a way to reframe and confuse the weaker members of his opposition. The stronger members of his opposition, who are fundamentalist evangelicals, are praying for him. Praying for God to open his eyes to the horrors of partial birth abortion, praying that he repents to the depths of his soul and accepts Jesus Christ as his savior.

So, do not mistake this praying for Barack Hussein Obama as support or acceptance for his un-Godly words or actions. You’ll be thoroughly confused if you do.

I wonder if David is the son of Reginald Stokes, an exceptional Baptist minister? ... The article is an interesting teeter-totter regarding Pastor Warren, at first questioning his judgment to be used by Obama, then a slight bow to Evangelicals with the following ending, after asserting earlier that young evangelicals helped to elect Obama:

"Many evangelicals are firmly, optimistically, and sincerely on the Barack-Bridge, but they may soon realize that in order to cross it completely en route to the new promised land of change, they will have to lighten their load and leave some stuff behind.
And among the things discarded will be a lot of Bibles."

"Truthfully, I think it [the FOCA] will die in the Senate, allowing pro-choicers to have it both ways." Of course it will. The obscene hypocrit, Harry Reid, will work to have it both ways, while serving his real father, the father of lies a murderer from the start.

The thing at work in this election, as in past elections and the sickening return to office of cinos like Kennedy, Harkin, Boxer, etc., is the startling lack of spiritual discernment! What can be at work for a real Christian to support a man who worked tirelessly in Illinois to protect the hideous killing method known as induced labor abortion? How could a Christian Pastor make a truce with such evil, with such a wicked man?

I wouldn’t count on that happening.
