Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is responsible for this mess. The influx of Somali Muslims there is their doing, and whatever "bad" things are happening now should be laid at their feet.

Naive do-gooders have once again perpetuated evil. It's liberal stupidity at it's most stupid.

Lutheran and Catholic resettlement agencies, acting as subcontractors to the U.S. government, sponsored the first groups of Somali refugees to Minnesota in 1993. Subsequently, word-of-mouth attracted other Somalis to the state who had originally been resettled to other cities. “Family reunification,” an immigration category that accounts for more immigration to this country than any other, was used extensively by Somali families, where two parents often raise up to eight or more children.

US members of Somalia extremists urge recruitment
(AFP) via GOOGLE NEWS ^ | April 10, 2009 | n/a
Posted on April 11, 2009 1:12:39 PM PDT by Cindy

22 hours ago WASHINGTON (AFP) — American recruits of Somali extremists addressed a press conference in the conflict-wracked country this week to rally other youths to join their jihad (holy war), a US monitoring group said Friday. On April 5, “two American members of the Mujahideen Youth Movement (MYM) identified as Abu-Muslim and Abu Yaxye” spoke at the news conference and acknowledged that “many” Somali-Americans are “all over Somalia to join the jihad,” said the SITE Intelligence Group.

The pair said they are “Somali youth” from the United States and are stationed near the southern port of Kismayo.

“Some of us are still in training, others are on the frontline of the jihad.

MOMBASA, Kenya (AP) - Somali pirates vowed to hunt down American ships and kill their sailors and French forces detained 11 other brigands in a high-seas raid as tensions ratcheted up Wednesday off Africa’s volatile eastern coast.

Pirates fired grenades and automatic weapons at an American freighter loaded with food aid but the ship escaped and was heading to Kenya under U.S. Navy guard.

“Somalis, FBI in other U.S. cities on alert for terrorist recruiting”

“While Minneapolis is the core of an investigation, leaders elsewhere want to keep youth from being drawn to violence.”

By JAMES WALSH and RICHARD MERYHEW, Star Tribune staff writers
Last update: April 18, 2009 - 10:11 PM

COLUMBUS, OHIO -

SNIPPET: “”No one has disappeared,” said Ahmed Hosh, who works with Somali youths in Columbus. “But if those who did the recruiting were individuals talking to someone alone, the scary thing is it could happen here.”

The Twin Cities area has been at the center of the federal investigation ever since a 27-year-old from Minneapolis blew himself up in a suicide attack in Somalia last fall. But other cities with large Somali populations are being scrutinized, too: Boston, Seattle, San Diego and Columbus, which has the second-largest population of Somali refugees in the United States behind Minneapolis — an estimated 40,000 to 50,000 people.”

Twin Cities Somali advocate heading to NY to help accused pirate
StarTribune ^ | 4/21/09 | Paul Walsh
Posted on April 21, 2009 7:14:43 AM PDT by ButThreeLeftsDo

A Twin Cities Somali community activist said he is on his way to New York this morning on a mission to ensure that an accused pirate is treated justly in a court appearance this afternoon.

Omar Jamal, executive director of the Somali Justice Advocacy Center in St. Paul, said he spoke Monday with the parents of Abdiwali Abduhl Wali-i-Musi, the sole surviving Somali pirate from the hostage-taking of an American ship captain.

Jamal said he intends to be in court today with Wali-i-Musi and carrying a letter from his parents in Somalia explaining that Jamal has permission to arrange for Wali-i-Musi’s defense.

Jamal said it’s likely that Wali-i-Musi will be represented by a federal public defender or an attorney arranged by the family, possibly from a civil rights organization on a pro bono basis.

“We need him to get any benefits of this judicial system,” Jamal said as he headed to the airport for a flight to New York. “Our primary concern is that the family doesn’t lose their mind.”

Lawmaker seeks to stop aid to Somali group in Twin Cities
StarTribune ^ | 4/21/09 | PAUL WALSH, KEVIN DUCHSCHERE
Posted on April 22, 2009 8:12:51 AM PDT by ButThreeLeftsDo

Twin Cities activist Omar Jamal said Tuesday he has helped ensure that a suspected pirate is treated justly while in federal custody in New York.

But if a Minnesota legislative leader has his way, it will be the last pirate Jamal helps.

Jamal, executive director of the Somali Justice Advocacy Center in St. Paul, said that he spoke Monday with the parents of suspected pirate Abdiwali Abdiqadir Muse and that he has been consulting with Muse’s attorneys. He said he intended to be in court Tuesday, but Muse’s public defender said his presence wouldn’t be necessary.

But House Minority Leader Marty Seifert, R-Marshall, responding to “tons of e-mails” from people he said were outraged by Jamal’s actions, said he will seek to block nonprofit status and state grants to any organization that helps foreign citizens accused of piracy or terrorism.

Minn. won’t penalize group in Somali piracy case

A Minnesota Republican legislator has failed in his attempt to punish a Twin Cities group that helped line up an attorney for an accused Somali pirate.

The proposal would have denied non-profit tax status and prohibited grants to groups helping alleged terrorists or high-seas pirates.

House Minority Leader Marty Seifert was aiming his proposal at the nonprofit Somali Justice Advocacy Center, which has assisted the family of a man being held in connection with an attack on a U.S. ship in the Indian Ocean.

Some Minnesota Somalis subpoenaed to testify before grand jury
KARE11.com ^ | 4/25/09 | AP
Posted on April 25, 2009 7:14:34 PM PDT by ButThreeLeftsDo

Some local Somalis have been subpoenaed to testify before a federal grand jury as authorities continue to investigate whether some young Somali-American men were radicalized here and recruited to fight with terror groups in their homeland.

Federal authorities won’t confirm the grand jury investigation but the subpoenas — as well as questions by FBI agents and customs officials — have unnerved some in the community. Local Somalis have felt vulnerable since officials began looking into why these young men left, and why one carried out a suicide bombing in Somalia last fall.

Omar Hurre, director of Abubakar As-Saddique Islamic Center, the largest mosque in Minnesota, said about 20 young Somalis have come to him in the last few months, asking for advice about grand jury subpoenas.

“Most of them just come to me and say, ‘Hey, I got this. What should I do?”’ he said. “Some of them are even crying when they come to me and confused and scared because they think when they get a visit from any law enforcement agency ... that maybe they did something wrong.”

Not to worry about the Somali's, they are on the Obama team. Actually they are part of the Civilian Defense Force that the Democrats and Obama are putting together to protect US citizens.

Somali Leader Stunned To Learn He’s On No-Fly List (MN)
WCCO.com ^ | 4/28/09 | Sonya Goins
Posted on April 28, 2009 5:29:44 PM PDT by ButThreeLeftsDo

Since last summer, dozens of young Somali men have disappeared from the Twin Cities.

And the FBI has focused its attention on the Abubakar As-Saddique Islamic Center in Minneapolis. Two of the leaders at that Mosque were put on the so-called no-fly list.

One of them is a volunteer youth coordinator named Abdulahi Farah, but he says he’s done nothing wrong.

“It was a very bad experience,” said Abdulahi Farah. He has been the youth coordinator volunteer at Abubakar As-Saddique Islamic center for two years.

He’s also a Somali outreach worker for the Richfield school district. Last fall he was told he couldn’t board a plane.

“He just said, ‘Ya know, you’re on the no-fly list and you just can’t go on the plane.’ I said why? He didn’t know — he said ‘Google it,’” said Farah. “I felt like I was found guilty before innocent — and you would say this is not America.”

Farah was planning on going to the Hajj with his new wife. The pilgrimage to Mecca is a big deal.

It’s a requirement that Muslims do this at least once in their lives.

“It didn’t come into mind once that we would be stopped from going to Hajj,” said Farah. “You wouldn’t think that something like that would happen in America where someone who has not done a crime, someone who serves their community, someone who always tries to be positive and tries to add something positive to the community.”

The FBI’s had its eye on the Mosque because a former member blew himself up in Somalia last fall.

Investigators want to know if Mosque leaders persuaded young men like him to go fight overseas.

“The only thing that I know I’ve done is reach out to some at risk youth and try to teach them the right way and so forth,” Farah said.

WCCO-TV called the Transportation Security Administration and a spokesperson told us the no-fly list is classified, so she couldn’t say if Farah was on the list or not.

Imam Questioned About Controversial Statements”

SNIPPET: “ST. PAUL, Minn. - An Imam is being questioned about comments he made about the United States in a YouTube video.

Many credit Imam Hassan Mohamud, from the Islamic Da’wah Center in St. Paul, for saving youth’s lives from sin.

But other question comments he made on a YouTube video meant to raise money for the center. “This is a project that can save you from the hell of living in America,” Mohamud said in the video.”

Group Linked to Al Qaeda May Have Killed Minnesota Man Recruited in Somalia
FOXNews.com ^ | Sunday, June 07, 2009 | By Mike Levine
Posted on June 7, 2009 1:59:19 PM PDT by metmom

A Minnesota man recruited to join an Al Qaeda-linked terrorist group overseas may have been assassinated in Somalia by the very terrorist group he went there to help.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has been investigating for several months at least 20 Somali-American men from the Minneapolis area who recently traveled to Somalia to train with the terrorist group al-Shabaab.

Somali youth from Minneapolis dies in homeland
StarTribune ^ | 6/7/09 | ALLIE SHAH
Posted on June 7, 2009 1:58:59 PM PDT by ButThreeLeftsDo

Another one of the Somali youths who vanished from the Twin Cities last fall has apparently met his death in his homeland.

Burhan Hassan, a studious teenager from Minneapolis, died in Mogadishu and was buried there, an uncle said Saturday evening.

“We received a call from those people in Mogadishu. They confirmed the unfortunate news that our son was killed,” said Abdirizak Bihi, whose sister is Hassan’s mother.

FBI officials could not confirm the news Saturday night.

Bihi said his sister received a call Friday morning informing her that Hassan had been killed and that he did not die in combat.

“Somehow he was killed,” he said. “They did not give us details. But they said there was no fighting from the enemy. Somehow they found him dead, the man said, and he was buried.”
