Note that they bury the source of the song title way down in the THIRTEENTH paragraph!!

Then, they don't even say that the LA Times used the term...they imply that the song is simply mocking the story about Obama.

Ther LA Times op/ed by David Ehrenstein:

Obama the 'Magic Negro'

Note: text wasn't bolded in original. I did that for emphasis.

Also interesting is that this seems to be an update to the story posted two days ago. (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2155002/posts)

This Duncan guy seems to be out of the loop.

Certainly he can't be serious about being put back in charge of the GOP.

Of course, I wouldn’t assume veracity in CNN reporting.

"The 2008 election was a wake-up call for Republicans to reach out and bring more people into our party,"

Considering that we had plenty of Republicans, but they didn't vote for the candidate at the top of the list, where did Duncan come up with this?

Is he still pushing that Hispanic agenda or what?

What you have to do is get good candidates that your party will vote for. If you don't have a good top candidate in the Presidential race, it doesn't matter what the process was that got him to that position ~

Believe me, he is. I have been following the "race" for chairmanship of the RNC. This is very much an insiders game. There are only about 168 members who get to vote. Many have implied, and at least one candidate has come right out and said, that the opinion of the rank and file does not matter. They claim that they set "strategy" and not "policy" as if that justifies their elitism. It is very discouraging.

Another reason why I no longer donate to the RNC.

Apologize for what?

A fictional character created by Hollywood liberals and espoused by the LA Times?

Spineless RNC should tell the MSM to stuff it and to criticize the actual source, not the person who is making a parody of the character created by Hollywood liberals.

Good grief...that song's been out since at least last spring when I was home and heard it.

The liberals are just now whining about it?

Eh.... pretty stupid lyrics, when you get right down to it. Coulda been funny, but it’s just not.

Mike Duncan is humorless and, apparently, very stupid.

Conservatives need a fresh start. Hitching our wagon to this star is a dead end.

This has to be about the third or fourth thread I've seen on this subject.

I'm actually sensing yet another strategy by the MSM to destroy the GOP and Conservative movement before Obama is sworn in, and well into his presidency...and to blunt any efforts during the 2010 Midterm Elections.

Otherwise, why would they unearth a story on something that was done well over a year ago (at least according to the date of one of the threads)?

I'm not defending what Shanklin has done here, but this is really too much...or the news cycle is dreadfully slow. Had it been a Palin parody done by someone from The New Republic or Rolling Stone, it would only register as a yawn on the MSM Richter Scale.

Not to seem paranoid or anything, but there's a story behind the story...and the reason the Media is running interference.

Duncan needs to learn how to use Google before he opens his trap and inserts foot about a topic. Don’t take the MSM bait!

It started when someone leaked it to a 'reporter' at The Hill and that is what created the controversy. The initial report didn't actually contain ANY quotes of anyone actually complaining - not now and not even from when the song was released.

Most likely, one of Saltzman's rivals pushed the story.

That's nice...nothing like a little political infighting to get the juices flowing.

These people are so over...I just wished they'd shut the Beltway down and let the country run on its own. My cat could do a much better job.
