Look what taxpayers' Wall Street rescue helped buy one former honcho!

Peter Kraus - a former top executive at Merrill Lynch who received a $25 million golden parachute after only three months' work - has landed himself a $37 million Park Avenue pad.

More evidence that "our" government either

1) Can't find its b*tt with both hands, OR

2) Wants to waste money

$37M? Must be nice to be able to pay twice what the property is worth and not worry.

Sorry, but to me, this article sounds like Dem class warfare rhetoric. Nobody in his right mind would have paid Kraus that much money for three months’ work in a typical situation. However, this is an unusual situation. It’s not Kraus’ fault that the company was sold three months after he signed his contract. The company should perform to the contract.

Maybe, but it is congress’s fault for letting Paulson give away billions for stuff like this.

Oh, I agree totally as far as the bailouts go. It’s shocking that our Congresscritters have done this to America.
