The director of the movie "Che" which will be released later this month is disingenuously claiming that he has no political axe to grind. In a CNN interview, director Steven Soderbergh absurdly stated that he only wanted to present the "facts" about Che Guevara's life:
Steven Soderbergh made certain his new movie, "Che," about the life of revolutionary Ernesto "Che" Guevara, couldn't be attacked -- at least on a factual level.
"I didn't mind someone saying, 'Well, your take on him, I don't really like,' or 'You've left these things out and included these things.' That's fine," Soderbergh said. "What I didn't want was for somebody to be able to look at a scene and say, 'That never happened.' "
But he's aware that he's going to be accused of romanticizing the Argentine doctor and Marxist guerrilla who helped Cuba's Fidel Castro launch the first and only victorious socialist revolution in the Americas. He doesn't buy the criticism.

PING!
Anybody doing a movie about Che and no axe to grind, it’s definitely for the brain dead Democrat crowd. Che was a murdering Communist thug.
No thanks. By the way, as an “imperialist,” I’m becoming increasing agitated that we haven’t overrun and set up governance of more countries lately....
The good news is that I have absolutely no interest in Che, his life, or any other aspect of him, so I get to vote with my wallet and simply say “NO!” to such crap. If the market feels as I do, such films get filed in the dustbin of history, making it that much harder for the next POS movie like Che from being made.
It’s been out for two weeks and grossed just $150K!!!
Closest showing for me here in Philly is the IFC in NYC, but only on the weekend.
I thought the language of imperialism was Spanish...
ALSO....it’s 4 hours and 23 minutes of torture.
And yet he will either produce his film in English or accept subtitles. Otherwise, it won’t make as much money and ze pour artiste vill haf no deenaroe!
There are towns in NJ looking much like ‘Little Cuba’ with all the Che T Shirts, BackPacks and jackets. I wonder who owns the image of Che and it making money off the new marketing.
Will it include the dogs he shot and kids he executed? Will it include his psychotic pal who loved executions more than he? Will it show the fancy digs that he enjoyed in Cuba?
> I wonder who owns the image of Che and it making money off the new marketing.
(grin!) do you remember just after Princess Diana died, some charity or another that she controlled really clamped down on “the name, image and likeness of Princess Diana”?
I thought that was spooky!
I guess if we were going to switch to a non-imperialist language, we’d have to speak Tagalog or something, since English, Spanish, French, German, Russian, Mandarin Chinese, Italian, Farsi, Greek, Japanese, Flemish, Dutch, various Slavic languages, Arabic, Portuguese, and a few others too are all languages that have been used by imperial powers.
Will not bomb. It has a worldwide built in fan base
Will not make tons on money but will get Stevie Soderberg all kinds hot women and good movie deals. And isn't that what it's all about?
After the movie theaters this will go to DVD and be an inspiration to rebellious youth worldwide. My take is it will also encourage Muslim youth. Soderberg is a very good director. I'm not a fan BTW...just stating reality
And at 4.5 hours it is most definitely meant to be an epic propaganda piece. Not something Soderberg thinks he will get rich at
And 4.5 hours on two DVD discs is a very easy way to distribute. So cheap and effective. Obviously this will be viewed 100 times more on DVD than in movie theaters

KRISTINN, FREEREPUBLIC.COM: We have kids that wear Che Guevara shirts here in the United States.
MATTHEWS: Yes, but they're kind of cute at this point, aren't they? They're not about somebody out to get us now. I think there's a difference. I mean, that's kind of camp almost, isn't it?...is Che Guevara the symbol of hate in the United States anymore?
KRISTINN: Yes.
MATTHEWS: I don't think so. I mean, a lot of our kids wear them. I see kids wearing them all the time, even my kids wear them. It's like a Robert Marley T-shirt at this point.

Che flag sends 'disturbing' message about Obama
Candidate attracts 'people who think mass murderers are romantic revolutionaries'
February 13, 2008
© 2008 WorldNetDaily

The Fox TV affiliate in Houston has captured images of a volunteer in a campaign office for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama working in front of a flag featuring the image of Che Guevara, the South American revolutionary who became Fidel Castro's executioner after the communist takeover in Cuba.
And while the Obama campaign has issued a statement placing a modest distance between the campaign and its "volunteers," the issue of such an image on display in an office operating on behalf of a man hoping to be commander in chief of the world's last remaining superpower is raising alarms.
Even Obama supporters have been forced into corners because of the issue, with one likening the Texas state Republican Party to Guevara, to whom have been attributed hundreds of executions of anti-Castro leaders.
Under the heading "Barack Guevara," Investor's Business Daily raised some of the more pointed questions, to which the campaign responded only with a statement: "The office featured in this video is funded by volunteers of the Barack Obama Campaign and is not an official headquarters for his campaign. ..."

Limited release. Full release is supposed to be Jan. 24.
Moviespolier.com will have a synopsis soon enough
Che changed his hairdo more often than Eric Clapton
But if you want to really have fun, next time you are surrounded by liberals tell them Soccer is the sport of Colonialism and genocide.

Congratulations on an extraordinary history making election!
We can think back with pride to decades of hard work toward our strategic goal of a big enough, broad enough and united enough labor and all-peoples movement that could overcome the ultra-right blockage to all progress. That all peoples movement has come to life, it is dynamic and it has the potential to keep growing.
The election of Barack Obama and a strengthened Congress creates new conditions in our country. There is now the possibility to shift gears and move forward. This new day requires us to further develop our tactics in order to continue to deepen and broaden labor and peoples unity.
There are thousands of experiences that we all have had in these momentous days, some large, some small, all of which express the enormity of change in thinking and readiness for involvement that is underway and that steels us for the battles ahead.
The tears of joy we all shared as crowds gathered to watch the election results here and throughout the world dramatize the new moment we are in.
Apparently they have spoken Spanish and Portuguese in Mexico and Central and South America for thousands of years.
Spanish is the language spoken by a nation that wiped out almost two continents worth of cultures, and only by a line drawn by the pope did they not make it too far into Africa.
Problem with stuff like this is that most people will only notice the large image of Che on your chest, and not the small words beneath it.
A four hour movie about a thug, murderer and all around loser and imbecile. Should be SRO, huh?
On the T-Shirt, the words aren’t small. I like the one which reads, “This Shirt Brought to You By Capitalism.” The one one which read, “Comemierda Comunista” is rather amusing.
Guevara was a child-murdering sociopath who left the world a better place simply by leaving it.
yup! I get your point
Pro-communist fools should be as easily blacklisted in Hollywood as a neo-nazi advocate would and should be.
So, from the headline, I’m supposed to believe that Spanish was the native language spoken in Cuba and that imperialists never visited there before English speakers.
Typical left-wing loony doofus!
I don't care if he buys it or not!
So long as he doesn't do his loser thing and put a gun to my head and force me to watch it.
4 1/2 hours eh? Still short of what was a typical Fidel Castro harangue but a c for effort.
I tell them soccer is the sport of conquered nations.
...and Arabic is the language of terrorists, and Urdu and any of those phlem languages the Moos speak
***wed have to speak Tagalog***
That is the language our hero in Henline’s STARSHIP TROOPERS! You don’t realize it till the last page of the novel.
BTW if you want to join and are a Facebook person, here is the link, Che Guevera was a murderer and your t-shirt is not cool Facebook group
***And at 4.5 hours it is most definitely meant to be an epic propaganda piece.***
Kind of like Warren Beaty’s REDS?
But liberals enjoy being conquered.
We are winning.
English is, much to France's chagrin ‘La Lingua Franca’ of international education, science, commerce, aviation and entertainment.
We are the new Rome, except a mercantile empire not a military one. We don't want to tell you what to do, we just want you to buy our stuff and produce goods for sale.
At war? We are the number one seller of arms. Have at it.
At peace? We are the number one seller of food. Buy some.
Don't want to speak English? The world will go on without you.... and it will go in English.
Che is sexier and more photogenic than John Reed and Warren Beatty’s other stupid commies. When that movie came out the question was “Who is John Reed?”
I still don’t know

Check out their free online video titled "Liberty Rising"! It's incredible. They took on United for Peace and Justice (a huge Communist Party USA "anti-war" front group) in New York City during the 2004 GOP Convention. They have a link to it at the website.

To me, that's like saying Jane Fonda is sexy. It doesn't even enter the equation in my mind.

November 22, 1970 -- During a fund-raising tour for GI deserters, Vietnam Veterans Against the War and the Black Panthers, Jane Fonda is quoted in the Detroit Free Press as telling a University of Michigan audience:
"I would think that if you understood what communism was, you would hope, you would pray on your knees that we would someday become communist," and "The peace proposal of the Viet Cong is the only honorable, just, possible way to achieve peace in Vietnam."
http://www.wintersoldier.com/index.php?topic=Timeline
Fonda made the following statement at the University of Texas:
"We've got to establish a Socialist economic structure that will limit private profit-oriented businesses. Whether the transition is peaceful depends on the way our present governmental leaders react. We must commit our lives to this transition ...... We should be very proud of our new breed of soldier. It's not organized but it's mutiny, and they have every right." --Karen Elliott Dallas Morning News December 11, 1971
From 1972: "I am not a do-gooder, I am a revolutionary. A revolutionary woman."
