So, I take it you no longer support potential Conservative candidates like Governor Palin, period? O.K., we’ll just wait until 2012 and let DU and KOS pick our candidate (again), since you think Conservative politicians are not worth the effort right now.

Don’t put words in my mouth. I have not said whether or not I support Governor Palin one way or the other.

Interesting that you seem to think that DU and KOS selected McCain this time around, guess they told McCain to pick Sarah Palin too, eh?

And I said nothing about conservative politicians not being “worth the effort”, again you’re assigning words to me that were not posted. I’ll tell you what I do see:

I see a mentality running amok that seeks to elevate Sarah Palin to the level of a goddess, the same sort of mentality that thrust Barack Hussein Obama upon the public. Before we all begin bowing and worshiping Sarah Palin as the next Reagan or Thatcher, let’s hear something out of Sarah that has the gravitas of a Reagan or Thatcher, shall we?

Tell you what there Sparkplug, what you and your fellow Sarahnatics need to do, is to stop suggesting that the far left DUmmies and KOS-kids have the kind of power suggested in this and other threads. They no more can ‘destroy’ Sarah Palin than can the lamestream media, and they spared no effort to try and trash Governor Palin, and all they did was gin up her support. IOW, they FAILED.

Well, be sure to let us know when you find a viable alternative to the “goddess” who can similarly energize the base, appeal to a wide-spread Conservative constituency with “X-Factor” charisma, pack the venues, and ultimately have a chance to win a National election.

And that has what to do with DU and KOS 'destroying' Sarah Palin? (something you apparently live in fear of)

Every candidate had some sort of Internet presence this past electoral cycle. But it still comes down to which political organization was able to get more of their voters (legal or otherwise) to the polls on November 4th. And despite all the crowds and banners, despite the presence of Sarah Palin on the GOP ticket, 0bama-Biden prevailed in the electoral college 365 to 173. Those kind of numbers strongly suggest that on a national scale, Governor Palin was a novelty more than an actual factor.

But hey, you go right ahead and entertain yourself.

Your problem Virginia, and the problem of your fellow Sarah-worshipers, is that you fail to understand the dynamics that any successful candidate for the Presidency MUST master:

In general, those dynamics demand that the candidate must be able to put a major state or region into play, a state or region that carries enough weight in the electoral college to propel them to a winning total.

Consider a few of the past elections:

2000. Texas Governor George W. Bush - it was a foregone conclusion that he would carry Texas, and Florida (Bush name big in Florida, although the margin was less than anticipated) plus much of the South and West (even carrying Al Gore’s home state of Tennessee and Bill Clinton’s home state of Arkansas). 271 to 266, still close.

1992. Governor Bill Clinton carried the West, a good chunk of the South, and the Northeast. Won 370 to 168.

1980. Governor Ronald Reagan (to which Sarah Palin is so frequently compared) carried 44 of 50 states to Carter’s 6, winning in the electoral college 489 to 49.

And what is demonstrated in these examples is that the winning candidate had a power base in the electoral college that made the difference between winning and losing.

Governor Palin can always count on winning Alaska’s 3 electoral votes. The onus is upon her to prove that she can win in the GOP primary season, and that is where she must demonstrate her electoral strength. Based on the drubbing she and John McCain took from the ‘Rats last November, she has a tough row to hoe.

Pretty accurate analysis on balance. The MSM savaged Palin in the recent election and will continue to do so for the next four years (and of course they'll continue to treat Obomba with kid gloves). If she somehow wins the nomination in 2012 it may play out like 1984 in reverse. Obomba will probably collect 500+ electoral votes. Palin will win Alaska and maybe one or two southern states. Her electoral base is simply too small in terms of numbers and power.

Trouble is, unless Obomba screws up big time (i.e., nuclear bombs falling on major US cities), the media is going to portray anything that happens as simply burnishing Obomba's glory, and the stupid sheeple of the electorate will buy it. I don't see any 'Pub doing any better in that case.

Between the socialist and racist “perfect storm” for 0bama, the backstab by the DemMole, Paulson, and the “boat anchor” candidacy of RINO McCain, even Ronald Reagan as VP candidate could have done very little more to salvage the past election...

I would also immediately suspect the McCain aides who bad-mouthed Sarah Palin, and the GOP internal enemies of conservatism.

You are right, and to your point about a tough row to hoe...

Me and several thousand conservatives are saying hand us a tool and assign us a row so we can get started.
