Woman suspects shooting, sexual assault tied to her activism on illegal immigration
EVERETT -- First a north Everett man was seriously wounded when a narrow-faced stranger burst into his home Dec. 22 and began shooting.
On Monday night, while the shooting victim was still in the hospital, his wife called police to report that a trio of intruders had just ambushed her in her kitchen. She was beaten, sexually assaulted and slashed on the back of her neck with a knife, she told officers.
Everett police acknowledge they aren't quite sure what to make of the violent events recently reported at the home in the 2200 block of Rockefeller Avenue.
The woman, Shawna Forde, 41, is national director of Minutemen American Defense, a group that lobbies against illegal immigration and sends volunteers to Arizona to monitor the nation's border with Mexico.
Early Friday, a story was posted on her group's Web site detailing what Forde said happened at her home. The posting is complete with photographs of Forde, displaying bruises and other injuries to her face, thighs and buttocks.
Forde, a one-time candidate for Everett City Council, insists the violence is somehow linked to her activism, including investigations she says she's been making into drug cartels and human trafficking rings.
"I am not dealing with people who make cookies," she said Friday, adding that she wanted her story to be told. "These are dangerous people."
Detectives are investigating what happened Monday, Everett police Sgt. Robert Goetz said. He confirmed police and paramedics were summoned to the Rockefeller home and a report was taken, but added there are few details he can provide at this point.
He urged anyone with information to contact police.

There's something that seems a little odd about this, although I can't put my finger on it.
I can. She is beaten up. In Mexico they are killing and beheading. Yet she is beaten up?

The only description of an attacker that I saw is white.
I have to say they're not terribly convincing. Multiple, parallel, superficial wounds. Many are on the right side, which makes it easier for a right-hander to self-inflict.
Although her face wound is on the left side.
I'm not a crime scene investigator/forensics expert, but I have made a hobby of looking at fake hate crimes, and this does look like on of them to this untrained eye.
Hope I'm wrong, because it'll just offer another weapon for the open borders crowd to attack the rule of law folks with, but I don't think I am.
Yeah, life threatening GSWs tend to be a little harder to fake.
I wonder if she faked this attack to gain some of the sympathy her husband had been getting? They were headed for divorce although I don't know how much acrimony was involved.
Actually, I'm getting WAY past my level of expertise, so I'll refrain from further speculation.
Or it could be some locals who are sympathetic to illegals.
I am with you; something is not right here. I looked at her pictures, and she claims she was hit with a baseball bat or something similar. I can tell you, if she was hit with a baseball bat the wounds would be much more severe. She also said she did not want to get into the details of the “rape” and in the report the police did not have much to say. I would assume she went to the hospital and had an exam and evidence collected so if you are going to post all of this why not give more details and why do I get the sense the Police are a little skeptical.... Something is just not right here.
How is it that these people are not armed to protect themselves and their homes?

This is a confused story so it would be prudent to wait until a thorough police and independent investigation is completed.

You do realize the wife or the husband or both, described the shooter of the husband as being white?
Just curious, in your hobby, what race or nationality is more likely to be guilty of, "faking a hate crime"?

It’s a fake quote.
Race/nationality wise, muslims of arab descent by a long shot. Of course there was a great spike in the year or so after 9-11, but they're still the leaders by a solid margin.
Next most likely are blacks, sometimes you'll see a family burn a cross in their yard, but that's unusual. In most cases it's something like carving the word "nigger" into a door, usually at college. There was a big uptick in noose hanging after the "Jena Six" incident.

This is far more likely to be done by young people than old. Gender-wise, it's probably 60-40 with the edge towards females.
It's still more likely to be a lib than a conservative, but, unfortunately we could be making a little surge as of late (McCain girl, probably the Augsburg College case, probably this).
There was a woman a few months back who claimed she was attacked by rabid Obama supporters who cut the initials “B O” into her face. It turned out that she did it to herself. The cuts were extremely shallow and backward mirror image.

There was also a young girl who falsely accused some of her Hispanic classmates of assaulting her and threatening her with rape last year.
She is going through a very contentious divorce with her third husband.

For all we know she hired someone to shoot her husband and that didn't work so she made this whole thing up. Her husband was her only source of money and he has cut her off and she is now using money people send to her website to live on. Oh she has guns in her house but really doesn't know how to use them.
She called the paper to see if they were running a story on her attack not the other way around

Shawna was kicked out of Minuteman Civil Defense Corps here in Washington State back in Feb. 2006.
There have been several other incidents along the lines of her missing daughter over the last 3 years. Some involved fundraising.

Yes she was. There's always a fringe who take things too far - I'd wager the Amish have their radicals living in caves screaming at the "evil house dwellers". Some followers of Dennis Kucinich tried to corral me and a fellow conservative while brandishing knives a few years ago (2nd Amendment bump) because he dared to hold up a sign asking "What is it about illegal you don't understand?" at a Democrat rally.
It was obvious they were bottom-feeders attracted to the prospect of scot-free thuggery than anything else. Just what we'd get if Obama got the "Inland Defense" he proposed. Shades of Hitler's Brownshirts.

It’s so sad to see so many unqualified people play judge, jury and prosecutor by attacking the victims here. Let it go through the courts. Ethics demand that all be fair instead of trying to make political hay or make anti-minuteman agenda smearing.
