For the first time since the operation in Gaza got underway, IDF artillery cannons started to shell targets in the Strip.
IDF artillery cannons began pounding the eastern sector of the Gaza Strip around 4 pm Saturday. Ynet correspondent Ron Ben-Yishai reported that portable artillery batteries are engaging in a heavy bombardment of the area.
This is the first time in three years that the IDF has fired artillery shells at Gaza targets.
Most shells are landing in what the Palestinians characterize as the "security zone" adjacent to the Gaza Strip fence. The IDF is targeting rocket launching sites in Jabaliya, Khan Younis, and Beit Hanoun.

Wow, I guess it really is “all out war”.
They also laid down a very nice thick smoke screen just before sun set ... it was shown on FNC earlier.
The shelling has died down a lot now compared to a few hours ago.
They are using artillery cannons, not artillery machine guns. The cannons are portable and apparently can be moved from place to place. I suppose permanent canons would be rocket attack targets.

Looks like Gaza is softening up according to schedule.
I seriously doubt that Hamas has advanced counterbattery equipment. Their rockets are unguided terror weapons.
Peace will come only after a decisive profound victory by Israel. They must hit Hamas over and over. Don’t stop shooting until the terrorists quit complaining. No cease fire. No treaties. No giving up more Israeli land. Just victory over evil. One should never ever try to be friends with the devil, or agents of the devil-Hamas. And as for the “people” in Gaza, THEY are the ones who voted Hamas in as the ruling party. You lay with flea ridden dogs, you get fleas. They brought this upon themselves.

I’m sitting on my back porch building a pine wood derby car. Hamas is sitting in their hideout building rockets to blow up / murder people they’ve never seen or known. This is why Muslims will never know peace.
