Because we conservatives in general are gutless sheepeople. Why else would we pay thousands of dollars to left wing profs to teach our children?

The problem with government schools is not muerely that they TEACH Communism. They ARE Communism. Thus, even government schools with “conservatice” teachers infantilize parents, and teach collectivism, dependency, and godlessness.

The most effective weapon that the godless in America have wielded against Christianity is the confiscation of hundreds of billions of dollars from Christian mothers and fathers in order to warehouse their children for twelve years and teach them godlessness.

We better try a new approach. In breeding dogs; you can’t breed the bad out of the dog(example bad hips)but; you can breed the good in. That’s how you do it.

We need to start breeding the good back in.

One big problem is that almost all teachers have to major in something called "Education." Whether the potential teacher will teach math, English or science, the teacher first and foremost has to major in Education. The Education classes are undemanding and teach a lot of Marxism. A lot of bright people who would like to teach do not go that route because they do not want to major in something as dreary as Education.

People like William Ayers are plotting the course of the Education system - to dumb down the schools, keep children from acquiring skills or even learning how to think. They want obedient if dysfunctional robots for the communist utopia the leftists are planning. Ayers rightly figured out that he can be more destructive to America by getting into the Education racket than he could be by making bombs.

So now that the problem has been identified...how is it going to be corrected?

The problem is that Conservative leadership has been trying to out-left the Socialist and have forgotten how to be Conservatives. Conservatives should ask if Obama is a king or a public servant. If private school is good enough for his children, then it is good enough for all children.

Did anyone hear McCain so much as mention School Vouchers this election? Did anyone hear him explain the negative impact illegals have on the education of the children of US citizens?

Perhaps I missed it, but I never heard anything close to that from McCain or Palin. So perhaps it may be to our benefit if we didn’t elect him to anything ever again and held back on the coronation of Sarah Palin as Queen of the Conservatives. Those who are really Conservative best stop playing with popularity and notoriety, like Liberals, and start voting for Conservative leaders whose actions are proof they will do as they say they will do.

We need Conservatives and we need fighters. If we don’t get a lot more Duncan Hunters and far fewer McCain’s elected in 2010, the demographics will have changed in such a way that 2012 won’t matter.

Secular society is the big push and it comes from the universities. You see it everywhere. Watch TV and you see how cool and godless it all is. The Conservative brand is ridiculed and the rare individual will stand up for it against an army of cool actors and entertainers... But that is it! There is no majority of conservatives just the odd one like a Jon Voight to dispel the countless cool bloviating liberals. This is the diet America is on. Trends, fads and more trends coming at you 24/7 to make your life hip, cool and easy. The abortion mill, gay marriage, etc., is hip, cool and easy.

So is anyone shocked! They shouldn't be. Who wants to go against the mainstream? What conservative will stick his neck out and what has he to say that strikes home to the liberals? Does he say put away your TV? How can he compete with the idea that government will give people everything so they can feel justice is met, that though they are not as wealthy and popular as a Brad Pitt, the government tried to reimburse them on some level?

This may seem far fetched but people will take everything if they feel they are owed it, even if they feel they aren't owed it. So what conservative will take candy from a baby? Or preach the hard line when people don't want the hard line? Sadly, conservatives have to fight on the liberal battlefield and that means having 1) good looks 2) youth 3) and the charismatic strength to make people forget their own tawdry life while still thinking about their own tawdry life.

Palin did it so there is hope.

You are right — the schools have been taken over by liberals and feminists. Rush Limbaugh has hammered on this point many times. But as you suggest, the real failure is conservatives. They don’t stand tall and fight. Underlying this issue is the fact that liberals work in government(taxpayer-funded jobs)whereas conservatives tend to work for themselves or for someone else in a private enterprise. Ask yourself, “which person has more time to push their agenda?” The liberals do and over time, via their unions, etc, they have changed the laws relating to education. This is not the country of our fathers, but the world of Orwell’s “Animal Farm”, and we are the worse for it. The election of a constitutionally unqualified candidate for President is proof of that.

Nobody can hope to prevail in any sort of a culture war while sending their children off to the enemy for indoctrination.

The Liberal effect in school was bad enough when I was a kid. I was opposed to the Vietnam war and sympathetic to Communism until I read Ayn Rand and the history of Russian Communism.

It's way worse now and I don't know how many people will fist fight with a gang as I had done because they were annoyed with my non Liberal opinions.

This problem could be solved with one simple change:

(a change which is opposed even by conservative teachers)

ELIMINATE TENURE.

It’s that simple.

“That begs the question, why in a county that is over 60% Republican and conservative”

This implies the country is still center-right in orientation. I don’t think that’s the case anymore at all. Were it the case, Obama wouldn’t have had a chance in November.

while conservatives Republicans have slept, the local school systems across the country, including ours, have been completely taken over by liberals.

There, fixed that.

THIS is only ONE factor. To begin with, conservatives need to support conservatives who follow conservative principles while in office.

Republicans and conservatives are in jeopardy of being "educated" out of existence.

This opening statement is based on the false premise Republicans and Conservatives are one and the same. That couldn't be more wrong. The Republican party has been moving towards the socialist left for years to expand the voter base.

Only Conservatives are in jeopardy of being educated out of existence because socialists are dumbing down school systems to exert more control over the masses.
