A report at the link below states that:
Top Senate Democrat Harry Reid (pictured) made it clear who he didnt want in the post: Jesse Jackson, Jr., Danny Davis or Emil Jones.
Rather, Reid called Blagojevich to argue he appoint either state Veterans Affairs chief Tammy Duckworth or Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan.
Jesse Jackson, Jr., Danny Davis and Emil Jones are all three black. Reids choices are Lisa Madigan who is white and Tammy Duckworth is Vietnamese.
Harry Reid says he is concerned about the ability of the appointee to win election in 2010. However, there will always be claims that Reid wants to go back to an all-white Senate as it was before Obama became a Senator.
In this case, it doesn’t appear to be a rumor, rather a fact!
Perhaps if Blago found a Black Mormon, Reid would relent.
Here’s the latest on Dingy Harry.
Whether through financial payback sought--now largely squashed (though Blago, seeing nothing wrong in it, is surely tempted to continue the pattern) as a matter of prosecutor record--or other value in kind, the head senate DIM would insinuate himself into the decision, especially since Blago's "on the ropes," so to speak.
As a citizen of Illinois, I am forced to understand that interestes other that those of citizens such as I are attempting to overwhelm this appointment. Plain and simply, this is CORRUPTION of the interests of the people of Illinois by 'Rat elected officials!

His body language on “Meet the Press” looked to me like he was lying. I am hoping that the wiretaps are released and he is caught lying big time. It is the Democratic party that is racist and formed the KKK. Like always they return to their roots.
That’s a regular day for either of the klintoons. They haven’t been indicted yet.
Because much of the population considers Mormonism an important factor in their decision not to support a candidate or office holder.
Mormonism has never been accepted by the general population while the religions of the other people you name are accepted.
However, if you go back to 1960 nearly every story about JFK mentioned his Catholicism. Back then Catholicism was not accepted and so it was mentioned in nearly all stories about JFK.
“I’m a Lutheran, not LDS, but why do we have to bring up Harry Reid or Mitt Romney’s religion when we discuss them”
I agree, especially since Sen. Reid’s actions do not appear to be consistent with the ethics and morality required by his faith .... seems like there are many in Washington who have that problem.
Reid says he has no recollection of this. He wasn’t there at the time, and it will never happen again.
I figured that since Blago has already played the race card, why not throw in religion, then Blago can say that Reid doesn’t want any Black Mormons!
