Citgo suspends fuel-assistance program
Boston Herald ^ | 01/05/09 | Jay Fitzgerald

Posted on 01/05/2009 10:27:10 AM PST by raccoonradio

Citgo has suspended its fuel-assistance program for low-income homeowners, putting added financial pressure on Joe Kennedy’s Citizens Energy Corp.

Citgo, owned by the Venezuelan government, is pulling out of the program that provided home-heating oil to thousands of Northeast customers, via contributions to Kennedy’s nonprofit Citizens Energy.

Kennedy has been criticized for accepting money from Citgo at the behest of controversial Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez, whose notorious anti-American rants have upset many Americans.

Kennedy has defended Citgo’s donations, saying the goal of fuel-assistance program is to help the needy.

Kennedy is holding a press conference this afternoon.

Is Kennedy going to apply for welfare and food stamps now that his big time salary is gone?

Any bum in this country who took oil from this fund should be stripped of his/her citizenship and deported to Caracas. If you’re going to be a bum in America, at least be a pro-American bum!

So do the people who donated to this charity get a refund?

Never mind. Stupid people donating to a charity run by a Kennedy and backed by Chavez deserve to get screwed over.

According to the user comments, Citgo is also using “Falcon” as a gas name.

Beware of Falcon gas as well as Citgo (or Sh*tgo as my highschool buddies called it)

The Kennedys own not one, but TWO oil companies. Kenoil and Mokeen Oil. They are in a tax shelter called the Arctic Royalty Limited Partnership. They can be reached at Oilproperties@jpkoffice.com

In Boston the Citgo sign just beyond left field at Fenway has become a tradition. Some asked it be turned off or taken down after the Chavez comments.
(When home runs headed for the Citgo sign, the word was
interpreted as C (see)-it-go )

Roped ’em in, Hugo the savior did, and now that the long teeth of winter are bared following a historic December cold, the rug is pulled. How Jeffersonian! A gubermint that is "Big Enough to Give You Everything You Want is Powerful Enough to Take Everything You Have."

I can understand where you are coming from, but if you coice is to take oil for a “Kennedy” or let your family freeze to death, I think they will take the deal.

“I don’t know how much he makes but it ain’t chicken feed”

I read once that it was in the $300k range. Anyone can feel free to correct me if I am wrong. Not a bad gig if you can get it. But my last name is not Kennedy.

This was originally done to Embarrass Bush. But now that we have the mighty O ready to take office, they don't want to embarrass him. As we all know once he takes over all will be perfect.

With the price of oil, Hugo had to make a choice between charity and Russian weapons.

When Hugo needs to cut he knows where it hurts him the least.
Besides, the propaganda effect has worn down and out.
Kennedy is for himself again.

I have nothing but contempt for anyone who would choose to sell out his own country to feed their family. The people who took oil from Chavez deserve to be publicly named, humiliated, and deported.

There were many people of lesser means who did not take oil from Chavez.
