Brilliant! Panetta will just remove the Al-Qaeda line item from the budget and !voila!, he has accomplished something Bush couldn’t.

What a horrible pick. This is a serious position. Could he not find someone that is a political hack to fill this position?
Two years military experience and got an arcom along the way. His intelligence experience is in connection with his service in the Intelligence Corps as a reserve officer. I guess he is about experienced as Kennedy for senate.

You can take a look at the Wikipedia article on Panetta for yourself but if you do be prepared to find nothing in his background or experience that would prepare him for or qualify him to be the head of CIA. So, from Obama’s apparent perspective that makes him a perfect choice. This may be the end of the CIA as we know it. Who knows, it could be that is a good thing.

We are going to be so vulnerable it's frightening. Having experienced 9/11 first hand I have to say, I am considering getting the hell out of here with these clowns in power. NYC is probably going to be hit again.

I can’t control who BHO appoint (because we lost) but I would venture to say that someone who was the WH COS for 3 years was aware of and in on more intel info that you or I could ever imagine.
especially under the Clinton WH... you could only imagine the secrets he knows.
