I just saw 'Blazing Saddles' on CNNMSNBCBSABC

At least I think it was Blazing Saddles.
The story was a little bit different than the 1974 classic by Mel Brooks. But the plot was the same.
It begins with an idiot governor

And then the governor decided to appoint a black man

I thought for sure the appointment was designed to drive the racists in Rock Ridge out of their minds. But no - it was to drive the senators in Washington DC out of their minds.

Anyway, the new mayor (or was it senator?) heads off to Washington DC. (Or was it Rock Ridge?)

Where they are eagerly awaiting him
.

But wait
Things are not looking so good for Sheriff Burris.

In fact - Harry (Johnson) Reid and the rest of the democrat senators are a little more than just unhappy.

Here's Harry himself
.

I fell asleep and missed the rest of the picture. So I'm not sure how this 2009 version ends. It sure seems an awful lot like the 1974 version though. It'll be interesting how this all works out.

Very clever analogy...
NOw can you tie the campfire scene with the beans to the hot air eminating from our esteemed leaders in DC?

And weren’t all them Johnsons in Rock Ridge a bunch of Minnasota square heads? Seems they do have a problem appointing office holders.

That would be a great scene. But actually I was looking for the scene of the dancing queens getting into that huge fight scene on stage
"Get 'em girls!"
starring Barney Frank.

They end up brawling and busting into a studio where there's a gay dance routine lead by Barney Frank.
Throw out your hands. / Stick out your tush. / Hands on your hips, give 'em a push. / You'll be surprised; you're doing the French mistake. / Voila.

Obama's tired.
Tired of being admired.
Tired of playing the game.
Ain't it a crying shame?

Well done! All the things you need to know in life you can learn from Blazing Saddles.
“Howdy cowboy. What’s your name?”
“My name’s Tex, ma’am”
“Well, Tex Ma’am, are you in the show?”
” Why, no.”
“Then get your fwiggin boots off the stage!”
35 years ago this February I saw it in the theaters. Laughter for two solid hours. February 1974 was a very depressing month. It was cold, we were on gas lines every other day for our cars, and it was....February. This movie always makes me smile.

LOL. I suppose Burris’ difficulty through the doors of the Senate is equivalent to the toll-booth in the middle of the desert?
Gotta pay to play. Oops. Harry Reid is officially against that. So he must have turned off the toll-booth :). Or maybe someone else is paying Harry to play.
To: JRochelle
I think I'll watch the original.Have you never seen it?? It's hilarious... poking fun at everything you can imagine. Mel Brooks would never be permitted to make it today.
