Guess who thinks Leon Panetta will be just perfect at CIA?
Samuel R. "Sandy" Berger, Lake's deputy before becoming national security adviser himself, said that Panetta "was part of the decision-making process for every single issue we were dealing with, whether this was in the Oval Office with the president or the Cabinet Room — the Middle East, Kosovo, China. He was a part of a small group of people who advised the president how to proceed on strategy and substance."
Yes, that Sandy Berger.
Former National Security Adviser Sandy Berger was sentenced Thursday to community service and probation and fined $50,000 for illegally removing highly classified documents from the National Archives and intentionally destroying some of them.
Berger must perform 100 hours of community service and pay the fine as well as $6,905 for the administrative costs of his two-year probation, a district court judge ruled.
Well, I feel better about Panetta, don't you?
Al Capone recomending the nomination of a new attorney general.
100 to 1 that Hillary picks up Berger as an aide or something...
Kind of like Bonnie and Clyde vouching for Bill and Hill’s honesty.
He was part of every National Security decision??
Like which document to remove from the National Archives?? Or was it a smaller contribution like:
“Sandy, I think you ought to put the swag in both socks so you won’t have a noticeable bulge in one of them.”
Well I would speculate... that at that moment in history The country was coming together for the Good. President Bush had an approval rating in the 80 percentile and so for Bush to start launching investigations and accusing the Clinton Administration for its failures that led to the terror attack would have been seen as Partisan... and may have soured the mood. It was smart to leave it alone and use the political capital wisely.
I don’t think many people really get it. George W. Bush is emotionally attached to 911 he takes it personally. Obama will never understand that.
No it was after Bush decided to do what Clinton or any Rat never would have the (sack) to do and that was take out Saddam Hussein... Pre-emptively, so that the threat would not materialize ....(The very lesson of 911) and then how they went after him... the fringe wack jobs led by Micahel Moore soon found and audience for thier dribble... They ran the 04 election campaign as a Political attack on Bush and his policies after they all agreed with him. It truly is insane.
Now I do blame Bush for not being more media savvy and for not launching a War Information department that could have largely handled the PR needed after the Rats started Campaigning on a desire for Defeat and Failure. They used the Vietnam playbook and soon the conditions on the ground began to mimic their rhetoric.
But the surge worked and they can’t escape that truth. So they will attempt to rewrite history so for all those reasons and more it is very important to stop the appointment of Panetta.
Good God that thing must have taken years to develop!
That’s amazing and disturbing at the same time!
I have only recently discovered this site and I am still learning how to use it. It really blows my mind. I hope other people start playing around with it.
