George Strait - Amarillo By Morning
(Terry Stafford/P. Fraser)
Amarillo By Mornin' Up from San Antone Everything that I got Is just what I've got on.
When that sun is high in that Texas sky, I'll be buckin' at the county fair. Amarillo By Mornin' Amarillo I'll be there.
They took my saddle in Houston, Broke my leg in Santa Fe. Lost my wife and a girlfriend, Somewhere along the way.
I'll be lookin' for eight When they pull that gate And I hope that judge ain't blind. Amarillo By Mornin' Amarillo's on my mind.
Amarillo By Mornin' Up from San Antone Everything that I got
Is just what I've got on. I ain't got a dime, But what I got is mine. I ain't rich, but Lord I'm free.
Amarillo By Mornin' Amarillo's Where I'll Be. Amarillo By Mornin' Amarillo's Where I'll Be.

Do You Know The Way to San Jose
Do you know the way to San Jose? I've been away so long. I may go wrong and lose my way. Do you know the way to San Jose? I'm going back to find some peace of mind in San Jose.
L.A. is a great big freeway. Put a hundred down and buy a car. In a week, maybe two, they'll make you a star Weeks turn into years. How quck they pass And all the stars that never were Are parking cars and pumping gas
You can really breathe in San Jose They've got a lot of space. There'll be a place where I can stay I was born and raised in San Jose I'm going back to find some peace of mind in San Jose.
Fame and fortune is a magnet. It can pull you far away from home With a dream in your heart you're never alone. Dreams turn into dust and blow away And there you are without a friend You pack your car and ride away
L.A. is a great big freeway. Put a hundred down and buy a car. In a week, maybe two, they'll make you a star Weeks turn into years. How quck they pass And all the stars that never were Are parking cars and pumping gas
I've got lots of friends in San Jose Do you know the way to San Jose? Can't wait to get back to San Jose.

Crosby, Stills & Nash - Marrakesh Express
(Graham Nash)
[Intro. (Electric Guitars)]
Looking at the world through the sunset in your eyes Traveling the train through clear Moroccan skies Ducks and pigs and chickens call Animal carpet wall to wall American ladies five-foot tall in blue
Sweeping cobwebs from the edges of my mind Had to get away to see what we could find Hope the days that lie ahead Bring us back to where they've led Listen not to what's been said to you
Wouldn't you know we're riding on the Marrakesh Express Wouldn't you know we're riding on the Marrakesh Express They're taking me to Marrakesh
All aboard the train, all aboard the train
I've been saving all my money just to take you there I smell the garden in your hair
Take the train from Casablanca going south Blowing smoke rings from the corners of my mouth Colored cottons hang in the air Charming cobras in the square Striped djellebas we can wear at home Well, let me hear you now
Wouldn't you know we're riding on the Marrakesh Express Wouldn't you know we're riding on the Marrakesh Express They're taking me to Marrakesh
Wouldn't you know we're riding on the Marrakesh Express Wouldn't you know we're riding on the Marrakesh Express They're taking me to Marrakesh All on board the train, all on board the train All on board

Ben E King - Spanish Harlem
There is a rose in Spanish Harlem A red rose up in Spanish Harlem
It is a special one, it's never seen the sun It only comes out when the moon is on the run And all the stars are gleaming It's growing in the street right up through the concrete But soft and sweet and dreamin'
There is a rose in Spanish Harlem A red rose up in Spanish Harlem With eyes as black as coal that look down in my soul And starts a fire there and then I lose control I have to beg your pardon I'm going to pick that rose and watch her as she grows in my garden
I'm going to pick that rose and watch her as she grows in my garden
(There is a rose in Spanish Harlem) La-la-la, la-la-la, la-la-la-la (There is a rose in Spanish Harlem) La-la-la, la-la-la, la-la-la-la
(There is a rose in Spanish Harlem)

WALKING IN MEMPHIS Marc Cohn
Put on my blue suede shoes And I boarded the plane Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues In the middle of the pouring rain W.C. Handy -- won't you look down over me Yeah I got a first class ticket
But I'm as blue as a boy can be
Then I'm walking in Memphis Walking with my feet ten feet off of Beale Walking in Memphis But do I really feel the way I feel
Saw the ghost of Elvis On Union Avenue Followed him up to the gates of Graceland Then I watched him walk right through Now security they did not see him They just hovered 'round his tomb But there's a pretty little thing Waiting for the King Down in the Jungle Room
(Chorus)
They've got catfish on the table They've got gospel in the air And Reverend Green be glad to see you When you haven't got a prayer But boy you've got a prayer in Memphis
Now Muriel plays piano Every Friday at the Hollywood And they brought me down to see her And they asked me if I would -- Do a little number And I sang with all my might And she said -- "Tell me are you a Christian child?" And I said "Ma'am I am tonight"
(Chorus)
Put on my blue suede shoes And I boarded the plane Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues In the middle of the pouring rain Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues In the middle of the pouring rain

Shambala by Three Dog Night
Wash away my troubles, wash away my pain
With the rain in Shambala Wash away my sorrow, wash away my shame With the rain in Shambala
(chorus) Ah, ooh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Everyone is helpful, everyone is kind On the road to Shambala Everyone is lucky, everyone is so kind
On the road to Shambala
(repeat chorus)
How does your light shine, in the halls of Shambala I can tell my sister by the flowers in her eyes On the road to Shambala I can tell my brother by the flowers in her eyes On the road to Shambala
(repeat chorus)
How does your light shine, in the halls of Shambala

The Clash: London Calling
London calling to the faraway towns
Now war is declared - and battle come down
London calling to the underworld
Come out of the cupboard, you boys and girls
London calling, now don’t look to us
Phoney Beatlemania has bitten the dust
London calling, see we ain’t got no swing
‘Cept for the ring of that truncheon thing
CHORUS
The ice age is coming, the sun’s zooming in
Meltdown expected, the wheat is growing thin
Engines stop running, but I have no fear
Cause London is drowning and I, live by the river
London calling to the imitation zone
Forget it, brother, you can go at it alone
London calling to the zombies of death
Quit holding out - and draw another breath
London calling - and I don’t wanna shout
But while we were talking I saw you nodding out
London calling, see we ain’t got no high
Except for that one with the yellowy eyes
CHORUS x2
The ice age is coming, the sun’s zooming in
Engines stop running, the wheat is growing thin
A nuclear era, but I have no fear
Cause London is drowning and I, I live by the river
Now get this
London calling, yes, I was there, too
An’ you know what they said? Well, some of it was true!
London calling at the top of the dial
And after all this, won’t you give me a smile?
London Calling
I never felt so much alike, like-a, like-a...

Arizona
Written by Margaret Rowe Clifford
Composed by Maurice Blumenthal
Come to this land of sunshine
To this land where life is young.
Where the wide, wide world is waiting,
The songs that will now be sung.
Where the golden sun is flaming
Into warm, white shining day,
And the sons of men are blazing
Their priceless right of way.
chorus
Come stand beside the rivers
Within our valley broad.
Stand here with heads uncovered,
In the presence of our God!
While all around, about us
The brave, unconquered band,
As guardians and landmarks
The giant mountains stand.
chorus
Not alone for gold and silver
Is Arizona great.
But with graves of heroes sleeping,
All the land is consecrate!
O, come and live beside us
However far ye roam
Come and help us build up temples
And name those temples "home."
chorus
Sing the song that's in your hearts
Sing of the great Southwest,
Thank God, for Arizona
In splendid sunshine dressed.
For thy beauty and thy grandeur,
For thy regal robes so sheen
We hail thee Arizona
Our Goddess and our queen.

“Hello Detroit”
Sammy Davis, Jr.
You’re a fighter, you’re a lover
You’re strong and you recover
From whatever gets you down
And there’s so many many reasons
Any time, any season
Is the right time, to be with you
Hello Detroit
You’ve won my heart
Your renaissance, and waterfronts
Give you a flare of your own
Irresistible you
Hug and kissable you
You’re alive with so much feeling
And I will always, be there for you
I will say, a little prayer for you
And I will always care for you
Hello Detroit
You’ve touched my soul
Thanks for the memories I cherish so
Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall
You’ve got it all
Hello Hello Hello
Hello Detroit
On a stroll through Belle Isle Park
Greektown after dark
You instill in the young, the will to become
Stars and champions
Hello my friend
How have you been?
It’s in the air
It’s everywhere
The magical touch of you
Irresistible you
Hug and kissable you
You’re alive with so much feeling
And I will always be there for you
I will say a little prayer for you
I will always care for you
Hello
Big D
Motor City
And the Motown sound that’s got the whole world singin’
I will always be there for you
I will always say a little prayer for you
I will always care for you
Hello Detroit
Hello Detroit
The local Rock & Roll station would play this every morning at 5:00 AM when they signed on, just as I was getting home from work. I really looked forward to hearing that stupid song. At 5:00 in the morning, even Detroit looks pretty good.

fatima,
Seeing I'm from Rochester, NY, I thought I'd feature a Foreigner tune, featuring Rachacha's own, Lou Gramm(atico) as lead singer. It's a song about drag racing on Lake Ave. in the Charlotte Beach area of Rachacha. To get the real effect of this tune, you need to be cruising in a Camaro and listening on an 8-track. :-)

Rochester, NY's Song - Foreigner - Rev On The Red Line
Two in a row, everybody knows
At the green light you rev it on the red line
Been waitin' all week to get my wheels on the street
Get my hands on the wheel, slide down in the seat
She's wearin' new colors and runnin' pretty good
I got four hundred horses tucked under the hood
But there's no need to panic, it's under control
We're aerodynamic and ready to roll
Rev on the red line
You're on your own
Rev on the red line
Just let it go
Runnin' all night on Lake Avenue
It's a piece of cake
If you know what to do
You've got to lose a few
'Til the stakes get high
When the odds are right
You just blow by
And make no mistake, there's women who just wait
For the man and machine with the best time
Rev on the red line
You're on your own
Feels like a lifetime
But soon you'll know
Wasn't long ago I could've lost my wheels
Had to outrun the law, it was no big deal
I guess they had a grudge, they were hot on my tracks
I had to pay off the judge to get my license back
Now I need to pin those needles, got to feel that heat
Hear my motor screamin' while I'm tearin' up the street
Rev on the red line
You're on your own
Rev on the red line
Just let it go
Rev on, rev on
Rev on, rev on
Don't think I'll ever learn to slow down
Rev on, you'll still be here and I'll be gone
Rev on, rev on
