Very nice!
Is there a market of people wanting to talk to their wrists?
I would think the battery life would be terrible on a device that small.
Does it come with JoeJitsu on speed dial?
I’ll need his help in busting Flathead and Mumbles.....
Hello? Bluetooth. No one will be talking to their wrists.
Why not? People are already walking around talking with their hand over their ear.
What would really become popular is something that makes them walk and talk while holding a hand over their ear while rubbing their belly with the other hand- something like a battery charger that runs of static. People wouldn't really care how stupid they look if they thought they were being 'green'.
So you have to keep a blue tooth in your ear all the time?
Wow. You must not be a technophile nor own a bluetooth headset...
Not really. The smaller the device, the less power it needs.
I own one. Tell me about it.
I’m waiting for the phone implant...
The battery in my RAZR isn’t much bigger than the dimensions (WxH) of that phone.
I came within half a minute of giving an idiot on an elevator an implanted Nextel phone/walkie-talkie. Who would have thought that using a device a foot from your mouth and ear is better than something nearer to your head?
Saw it this morning. SOoooo getting one.
Bluetooth headsets suck. Not worth the money you have to spend on them. You get better sound with cheaper wired headsets, plus it's just more batteries to keep changing. There are just too many other sources of static interference for blue tooth to work good on the street. They are ok in less 'noisy'places, like at home, but when driving you end up saying "what?" 100x more than you normally do. Plus with blue tooth there is a greater possibility that your conversation can be picked up by others.
Been there - done that - know that feeling... ROTFLMAO
Not me. I hate cell phones. I keep mine turned off most of the time when I leave the office. I leave the work associated with the office at the office. Who really wants to be constantly tethered to the office with their PDA, when they can enjoy a nice relaxing commute home without being bothered?
I find people that walk around in public, while in line at the bank, or a store, in elevators etc. gabbing on a cell phone, to be very annoying.
Is your last name van Winkle? Where have you been?
If it has Bluetooth, then you just use a hands-free earpiece with it and voila!
“I would think the battery life would be terrible on a device that small.”
Maybe it’s self winding.
The only problem with miniaturization is, when you get older like me, you'll find that your eyes aren't as good as they used to be as well. I can't see anything on tiny things without 3x reading glasses! And with those on, you can't see anything else further away!
Not worth the money you have to spend on them. - Her's didn't cost that much. I think $60. Given the quality, comfort, and weight of it, I think that's pretty reasonable.
You get better sound with cheaper wired headsets... - Wired headsets have their own problems, the least of which is the wire accidentally getting yanked out of the plug as you move around. I've had that happen to me frequently.
...plus it's just more batteries to keep changing. - My wife's headset is rechargeable. We have a device recharging station in the house for all of our rechargeable devices, so it's not inconvenient to plug it in at night with the rest of the crap.
Blah blah static blah "saying 'what'" blah - Sounds like you have only ever used really crappy headsets. This is not a problem with a quality unit.
Plus with blue tooth there is a greater possibility that your conversation can be picked up by others. - Oh noes! There is a *slight* chance that some l33t h@x0r will tap in to your bluetooth conversation and listen in to your TOP SECRET conversation about what happened on Lost last night. Seriously. How often are you carrying on a really private conversation within range of someone who could tap in to your bluetooth? And if you are that close, what would prevent them from just listening to you flap your gums the old fashioned way? AND do you really think your conversations are so incredibly interesting that anyone wants to eavesdrop on you?
Research was done on the idiots you're talking about - and I've got news that will make you even more angry with these boobs. Turns out that a fair number of these folks aren't talking to anyone. They're just talking. It's a weird "look at me, aren't I special" type of creepiness.
I never "chat" in public - it's tacky. I'll answer, check to see if there's some problem and if not, tell the person I'll call them back
An Englishman, an American, and Frenchman were talking when the Englishman put his finger in his ear and started talking into space. Sorry chaps, my implanted phone just gave me a ring he said. A little later the American closed his eyes and spaced out. Oh sorry guys he said, just reading some email on my eyelid screen. Then the Frenchman farted, Sacre Bleu!, he said, fax coming in.
How do you hear that thing without an earpiece?
Depends where you use them. They ALL suffer from interference in 'noisy' public places and they ALL perform poorly while driving. They ALL just add to the problems already inherent with cell phones.
"Oh noes! There is a *slight* chance that some l33t h@x0r will tap in to your bluetooth conversation and listen in to your TOP SECRET conversation about what happened on Lost last night."
it's not the conversation hackers are interested in. It's access to your cell phone account that these hackers who walk around with scanners are after. And they are quite good at it. Blue tooth is very insecure.
I've always felt that's what it is with "those" people. Thanks for confirming it.
It is an innate fear of being alone. A significant percentage of those you see with their cell to the ear while driving alone in their vehicle have a fear of being alone and need the contact for subliminal reassurance.
Me too! Just like in Search...
Yeah, yeah, yeah! But will it...
get me laid at closing time?
So I can either talk to my watch, or keep two items on me so I can make a phone call?
Yeah, but a very cool, high-tech, Dick-Tracyesque phone call!
That’s for damn sure.
cool tech ping
It’s about time they started inhabiting that real estate owned by the wrist watch. These will last longer also, because they’re secured to a wrist and most people will use bluetooth.
