What Does Leon Panetta Know About TWA 800

© Jack Cashill January 8, 2009 - WorldNetDaily.com

Last week, I received an email from a former 747 pilot named Thomas Young.

In early August 1996, Young explained, he was laid up in a Hong Kong hospital with a back injury. His employer, Polar Air Cargo, flew his wife Barbara out to join him. They had little else to do but watch TV. Here is what they saw.

The videotape began with people milling about on a deck facing a body of water. In the background, a streak of†light can be seen leaving a point below the edge of the deck, accelerating as it climbed; it passed behind what appeared to me to be a thin cloud layer and continued upward out of the frame, from right to left. As the streak of light disappeared beyond the edge of the frame, after a slight pause, there is a generalized, dim flash on the upper left side of the screen, followed by a brighter and more pronounced flash.

Some 270 eyewitnesses on Long Island would give formal accounts to the FBI of the same event--an apparent missile attack on TWA Flight 800 on the night of July 17,1996. Scores of them would provide detailed drawings.

Young—and Barbara confirms his story—saw the video of the event roughly four times an hour for some two weeks.

>>>

“If this was a Navy missile,” Barbara recalls her husband telling her at the time, “there goes Clinton’s re-election.”

I have heard from at least a hundred individuals who saw the same video as Young. None of them could provide this level of detail, and not just because they lacked Young’s experience. The video was pulled from American TV within hours of its being first aired.

And now that I think about it, wasn't Monica Lewinski either hired by and/or was working in Panetta's office while Panetta was Bubba's Chief of Staff?

You sure can pick'em, Barry. Couldn't have Richardson, so Panetta's the next best thing, eh?

That just happened to go off immediately after hundreds of eye witnesses (and video) showed a streak of light, characteristic of a missile, going up from the horizon to the plane's location followed by an explosion?

Like these FBI eyewitness sketches:

Who are you going to believe, the Government or your lying eyes?

Oops, wrong first picture. That was actually an FBI made sketch, who went back to another eyewitness and showed him the drawing, saying the sketch was from another eyewitness (which it was not.)

The witness said "you missed the entire first part" and drew this on the FBI-produced sketch:

Thanks. Just hope no one here lumps it together with the nonsense about a missile shooting down TWA 800, because Panetta does have ties to the Marxist think tank ‘Institute For Policy Studies’ AND was high up in the Clinton administration during the Chinagate scandal. These are very serious (factual) things which must be brought out in the open. And they are likely only the tip of the iceberg. This guy simply cannot be placed in charge of the CIA, particularly with Russia and China making big moves on the global stage.

I remember this video. I also remember it’s dissappearance. I’ve known since the second I saw that video what happened and I’ve been called everything from crazy to nuts for calling BS on the “official” explanation for TWA 800.

I KNOW what I saw, it WAS 100% a missile. Navy or terrorist launched, I don’t know, but that plane was hit by a missile.

VEEEERY interesting.... I was not previously aware of any of this.

I just discovered that the (original 1960s) Black Panther archive page I linked to is no longer available. However, I found the entire contents of the website saved on Web.Archive.org.

Shame we didn’t have YouTube in 1996. That video would have been posted a million times in the first 30 minutes.

Nothing hotter than communist lesbians...

LOL! Here's one for you. She heads the so-called "anti-war" group United For Peace and Justice. The piece below needs to be updated, however. She is now the 'National Coordinator' for UFPJ.

From David Horowitz's FrontPageMag.com/DiscoverTheNetworks.org:
Profile: Leslie Cagan

* Co-chair of United For Peace and Justice
* Member of the Communist Left since the 1960s
* Founder of the Committees of Correspondence, a splinter group of the Communist Party USA
* Co-founder of Iraq Occupation Watch

Leslie Cagan is co-chair of the anti-war coalition United For Peace and Justice (UFPJ), which consists of more than 1,300 local and national groups whose shared mission is "to oppose our government's policy of permanent warfare and empire-building."

Cagan was an original founder of the Committees of Correspondence, a splinter group rooted in the Communist Party USA (of which Cagan is a longtime member). A strong supporter of Fidel Castro, she proudly aligns her politics with those of Communist Cuba.

Since the 1970s, Cagan has mobilized millions of demonstrators in rallies denouncing America's foreign policies, its military-related spending, and its purportedly virulent racism, sexism, and homophobia. She condemns what she calls the United States' "daily assaults and attacks on poor and working people, on women, people of color, lesbians/gays and other sexual minorities, the disabled and so many others."

Cagan considers Castro's Cuba to be a far better place to live than the U.S. During her seven years as director of the Cuba Information Project, she led numerous demonstrations demanding that America end its economic embargo of, and travel ban to, the island nation.

"In the winter of 1969-70," Cagan fondly recalls, "I spent over two months with the First Venceremos Brigade in Cuba. Just ten years into their revolution, the Cubans had taken control of their history. … While we were in Cuba, Fred Hampton and other Chicago Black Panthers were murdered. It was a shocking reminder of the brutality and power of the U.S. government, and there we were in Cuba, a whole nation under attack from the U.S. As Brigadistas we were taking a risk traveling in defiance of Washington's travel ban, but we knew the risk was small compared to what Cubans and so many others around the world faced every day." (The Venceremos Brigades were organized by Castro's Cuban intelligence agency, which trained "brigadistas" in guerrilla warfare techniques, including the use of arms and explosives.)

Among the supporters of the many pro-Castro rallies that Cagan has attended or helped organize over the years are such entities as Casa de las Americas, the Communist Party, the Socialist Workers Party, the Workers World Party, and the Young Socialists.

In the early 1990s, Cagan was the official coordinator of the U.S. Peace Council, a pro-Castro, pro-Sandinista, pro-FMLN, pro-PLO, anti-American organization. She would later recall that "while organizing against the Gulf War in 1990/1991 … I coordinated the National Campaign for Peace in the Middle East, [whose] primary focus … was trying to stop the mad rush to war by the U.S. government." (The historical record, however, shows that more than five months elapsed between Iraq's invasion of Kuwait and the start of the Gulf War, during which Saddam Hussein defied repeated ultimatums demanding that he withdraw his troops as a means of averting a coalition attack.)

In February 1996 at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, the National Network on Cuba (NNOC), of which Cagan was a national co-chair, sponsored a public forum that featured an address by Angela Sanbrano of the Committee in Solidarity with the People of El Salvador (CISPES), which was affiliated with the Communist guerrilla movement in that country. Another guest speaker was the Cuban revolutionary José Luis Ponce, who appeared on stage with an admiring Cagan. As the socialist publication The Militant reported, Ponce lauded the Castro revolution for its opposition to "the legacy of U.S. domination -- a legacy of unemployment, absence of health care for millions especially in the countryside, illiteracy, racism and the super-exploitation of women." He further predicted, quite happily, that "a fight for socialism" would re-emerge in Russia. To all these assertions, Cagan nodded with approval.

In 2001 Cagan was elected Chair of the Pacifica Foundation's Interim Board of Directors.

Cagan was a signatory to the 2002 Not In Our Name (NION) statement denouncing America's declared war against terror, which began in Afghanistan, as "a war without limit" whose hallmarks were "stark new measures of repression."

Cagan cheered a January 2003 "peace" rally in Washington, sponsored by International A.N.S.W.E.R., which is closely allied with the Marxist-Leninist Workers World Party. "This is A.N.S.W.E.R.'s dance, and they get to call the tune," Cagan said. "We are at a point where it is really, really critical that many, many groups come out and voice their opposition to this war. Some in the hard-core Left have taken the lead on that, and I applaud those groups for that."

Cagan strongly opposed the 2003 U.S. military strike against Iraq, which she characterized as nothing more than a thinly veiled oil grab. "Oil is not worth war!" read Cagan's UFPJ Website. "How much is the Bush administration's push for war with Iraq motivated by its desire to gain control of Iraq's oil fields?"

In 2004 Cagan co-founded -- along with Global Exchange founder Medea Benjamin -- the organization Iraq Occupation Watch (IOW), whose express mission is to encourage widespread desertion by "conscientious objectors" in the U.S. military.
